I agree with what another reviewer said: the rubber part of the clamps (meant to protect the surface of your tripod) slips off after a few uses. The adhesive on that rubber just sucks. But as far as the idea of support bars themselves:If you're using a slider that's center-mounted to a single tripod, these will definitely help reduce the motion you can get when your camera gets to the ends of the track.However, if you're looking for studio-quality smoothness, you'll never be able to beat the stability of two tripods mounted to the ends of the track.These arms are fine for a student project or if you're trying to improve your shots on a budget--but I would never go this route on a professional shoot.
