MusicNomad’s Premium Work Mat and 5-in-1 Cradle Cube neck support will help you do repairs and maintenance on your string instrument safely and securely. Developed using a special TPE material that is safe on all finishes, the work mat is odorless and contains no rubber, PVC, lead, latex, dioxins, or chloride. The specially designed, textured, anti-slip surface provides traction while you work, and is durable yet soft to help avoid scratching your prized instrument. The Cradle Cube neck support features five varying heights and angles, providing the perfect companion to the work mat for doing repairs and maintenance. Made of an innovative gel material, the Cradle Cube gently yet fully supports either side of the neck. MusicNomad has developed a better way to work on your musical instrument

On the surface, this is a pretty straight forward product with not a whole lot of imagination to be expected. It does the job you expect quite ably. One unexpected (to me anyway) benefit though comes in form of being able to lay the neck support on its side and have it still cradle the guitar neck effectively. Given the soft silicon surface and the wider V angle to it, it self adjusts to the radius of the neck and is both lower and create a much lower angle for the guitar to lay at. You wind up with virtually no chance of the guitar getting knocked over and with the guitar being closer to flat while all but the end of the body is held away from the matt. I find i can also put an electric on its edge as if it were being played, which makes setting the action and intonation accurately a bit easier.CON: The one con I'll toss out there is not enough for me to take a full star away. The matt comes with an elastic strap to hold it together when it's rolled up, but that strap is loose, and thus easy to have fall on the floor, drop between things, or otherwise get lost. It would be nice if it was stitched into the edge such that the matt could still lay flat and the strap could be pulled up and over the matt when it's rolled up, but that it was in no risk of getting separated from the matt. Alternatively, having a little clip or punch in the neck support would provide storage to keep all three pieces together.

Never knew how much help the MusicNomad would offer when it came time to change out the strings on all my guitars. Sure sped up the process. Then all I had to do is roll it up.

Awesome piece of gear. I do all my own luthier/tech work. I used to have a pillow and soft blanket I would use when I needed to change strings, do a set up, fret work etc. I bought this combo set and it's definetly paid for itself. With different sides to hold almost any stringed instrument within reason you can't go wrong. It holds the necks secure due to the materail it's made from guitars don't really slide around on it. The mate itself doesn't slide on my table top at all once laid out. They're totally safe for your finish so no worry about scratches! The neck stand can also double as a holder for your tools. As I said I do all of my own work so I don't use it for this as I have so many tools I had to buy a tool box just for my guitar stuff. All in all this is a must have even if you only use it for string changes. Great value and as always that awesome Music Nomad quality. You really can't go wrong. Save yourself some headaches and buy 1 of these bad boys immediately!

it’s awesome but can be a pain to get metal shavings off of it due to the design on top i wish it was more smooth but the neck rest picks up a lot of dirt so i find myself wiping it a lot to make sure i don’t scratch a neck

Whether you are working on your guitar/bass string side up or down, this Music Nomad combo is just what you need. I have limited flat horizontal space in my small home to work with, so it’s great having a padded, protected workspace in seconds.

I have a number of guitars, and I work on my pickups, change strings, clean them, etc. This mat is perfect for that. The neck support can be laid on its side or it can stand a bit higher, allowing you to work on both electric and acoustic guitars. And the block is designed to accommodate the fret board of the neck and the rounded side - that is some thoughtful engineering! I am also happy with the quality of the mat, and the mat thickness is perfect for guitars - even a heavy Les Paul. It would be too thin if you were also working on bowling balls, but that is not an issue for me. I wholeheartedly recommend this if you are on the fence due to some of the negative reviews, as I was.

The MusicNomad products are high quality. The neck cradle has a soft rubbery finish that prevents guitars from slipping and sliding while working on them. It doubles as a tool holder cup.The mat is very non slip.

Produit conforme et idéal pour travailler sur ses guitares. Le socle est revêtu d'un caoutchouc souple qui maintient bien le manche et le tapis est bien anti dérapant. Idéal.

I have used this mat and cradle many times to service my electric guitars and it is very well made and has the advantage of rolling up with a separate elastic band for easy storage.
