Music Nomad makes some great tools , esp. for DIYers. This is no exception. I have several of their truss wrenches and all are designed well for the task. I also have their setup tools which I recommend. Great videos on line to instruct you.

Can confirm that this fits the standard Gibson truss rod nut, and it's significantly better made than the ones that come with the guitars. Still has a tendency to stick in the slot, though I'm pretty sure that's just a design flaw in the design of Gibson's truss rod recess.

It is a little too large in outside diameter to get all the way into the truss rod nut channel in the headstock. Still, it does go in enough to get a purchase in the nut for adjustments albeit a little at an angle.

Don’t bother with regular socket tools. You’ll ruin your nut and frustrate your work. Get this and be happy.

Have an old SG and it has never played or sounded right. I got this product and didn't expect much. I thought that the truss rod was broken. Nope. It was loosened all the way. I found this out when this socket when in. I got the neck adjusted and it is a different guitar. Screwdriver is a perfect fit but mind, all screws aren't magnetic.

Although quite expensive, I prefer to use good quality gear when adjusting the truss rod on a €4k Gibson archtop and this does the job well
