When I bought my house the seller had these for the wood stove. I was impressed at how fast they catch and used them all through the winter. I since bought more and will continue to use them. There’s quite a bunch of them in the box so I think it’s a great deal for the price and the effectiveness!

These are great and inexpensive fire starters. They light easily and burn long and hot enough to get the rest of the wood stove going. Highly recommend these fire starters. You don't even need kindling with these just put these under the regular logs, light and they will get the rest burning.

Makes starting my fire super easy in the wood stove. I buy them every year.

I've used these only in a home fireplace, never in a firepit, pellet stove, or outdoor/camping application. Given their makeup and easy lighting, I'd say they'd be good for all 3.These nuggets are relatively small, so if you have large spaces in your fireplace grates, they will fall through unless perched on bark, or a welded platform. They burn a very long time, and as long as they're placed under the wood (with a little headspace) they work very well. Great value for the price, especially compared to StarterLogg.

10/28/2022 have bought again for this year. 11/5/2021 Update...I still buy these! They are amazing!!!! Just bought another two boxes for the winter season. These are stupid great at getting damp wood going. We also use them in our fire pit. But need 3 or more to keep going. My review is just based off the wood stove. It's great. Buy it works in other situations. Just need to make sure it's got plenty of kindling and paper to keep it going.Um...wow. so I did a trial test as I was curious as to how long product would burn. It lasted approximately 22 min. So I had some cautious optimism. And, I just say, it exceeded expectations on first use. It rained yesterday and I was too lazy to split some wood so it got its first test on 3 4 to 6 inch rounds that were wet. I used two of the nuggets to get it going and threw in a bit of twigs and some shredded packing material I needed to get rid of. It was slow to start, didnt give me a raging fire d/t the above mentioned conditions immediately...but was extremely effective. Logs eventually caught and the fire has been going in the stove now for 4 hours. Will def buy again!!!

We've used these fire starters for several years and they make starting the fire in our wood stove SO much easier . One will usually do the job with the right kindling. Recommended!

We are frequent campers. It worked great when we had dry wood and no humidity but when the humidity was high and wood was damp we couldn't get it lit

I heat by woodstove so winter means starting a fire in my woodstove twice a day. These nuggets make it so easy!I just put in two dry pieces of spruce and wedge two of these nuggets in between. I light them with a propane torch for about 30 seconds to get them burning nicely. It’s the fastest way to get my fires going.I keep them in a plastic bucket with a lid to prevent igniting. I also use the crumbs from the box, just sprinkle them in the stove and light em up.

Was looking for something to start the charcoal in my bbq and these worked great. If you buy them for this though I suggest breaking them in half because a whole 1 is not needed

If I were to describe these lighting nuggets in one word, I would say that they are impeccable. To start off, I work in the bakery section of a restaurant. We have two shifts for the bakers who work there; the opening shifts and the closing shifts. Whenever I work, I am always scheduled to be the opener. In the restaurant, my job as the baker is to make pita bread and manakeeshes in a wood oven. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to start the wood oven. Since the oven is not electric or a gas oven, it has to be started my scratch. I would have to get pieces of wood and put it in the oven, and then light up newspaper then throw it in and hope for the best. This normally does not work on its own so I would have to take kindling and throw it in to see if that catches fire. I would have to repeat these steps over and over again until the fire not only starts but it is steady. If the fire starts then dies down, I would have to go through the process again. This method was the way I started the oven everyday, but I was very tired because it was not only exhausting, but very time consuming. I usually start my shift every day at 9am but I would have to come for 8am because it took me an hour every day to start the fire. Exhausted at this process, I looked online to see if there was any easier way to start the oven. I read advantages on using fire starters and then I came across this particular brand by Lighting Nuggets. I read all of the helpful reviews and that motivated me to take the plunge to purchase my first box of fire starters. The package arrived quickly in the mail, in less then 3 days which was amazing since I needed them ASAP for work. Inside of the box consists of 50 nuggets which appears to be made out of some kind of wax and lint on the inside and kindling coated around each nugget. Each nugget has a flat base and a round top and it is about 2 inches in length. The next day I received them, I took them to work to test their magic. What I did was I took a piece of wood and placed it lying down, and then I lit the nugget and placed it next to it. Also tip, when you light the nugget, make sure to let the flame run for at least 20 seconds or else the fire will go out as soon as you let it off a source of flame. And it is much easier to light the nugget from the round part instead of the flat part. What I do at work is I take one of those cooking grates that are used for grilling meat and then I put that on top of a gas oven with the nugget placed on top. I turn on the stove and let the fire from the stove fun for 20 seconds. The I go to my wood oven and place the nugget in lying next to the piece of wood I had already placed in the beginning. After that I take small pieces or thin pieces of wood and I lay them on top of each other, kinda like making a tipi. After that I leave it alone. There is no maintenance, or baby sitting that needs to be done. I don't even use kindling or newspaper anymore. It's just the fire starter and pieces of wood. Whats great about these is that instead of taking me 1 hr to start the oven, it only takes me maximum 15 minutes. These fire starters have really helped me a lot. They made my job much easier and they do the job. You only need one if you do everything correctly and the box will last me a very long time.

I use them for lighting the fireplace each evening. I light the edge of one nugget with a lighter and place it in the center of the hearth and then arrange four pieces of wood around it. Two pieces are placed in parallel up against either side of the burning nugget and then two are laid on top of them crosswise so the flame rises up the middle. Works every time.

These firestarters are by far the most effective I have ever used. When they state using paper as a fire starter is now a thing of the past, it's the TRUTH....no B.S. // Very satisfied customer.

Works best with a 'wind-proof' type of lighter to get going, but as soon as just a corner lights it's good to go. Best to let the whole surface light before stacking any wood in (about half a minute) and then it's about 10 mins of full flame. The results are awesome.
