We have loved this microscope. We had it for 10 months before my 7yo accidentally broke it trying to force the stage up too far. This is 10 months of daily use by a 6/7 year old with ADHD who is super hard on his toys. He’s forgotten it outside, on the floor, left the light on for days and I’ve not had to replace the batteries. For a more gentle kid this thing might last forever, even though it feels really cheap. The focus is super easy. It’s just controlled by moving the stage up and down and it’s pretty easy to get it in focus. I’ve seen some reviews say it’s too sensitive and easy to knock out of focus. That wasn’t true for ours, and I intend to replace it for Christmas 2023 so I’ll update if our next one isn’t as good. I’ll forget if not so no news is good news lol.I got a bunch of prepared slides and he has spent hours looking at them and anything else he finds he can fit on the stage. Definitely worth the price for my little scientist.

Excellent gift for kids, even the super active ones. Demo items are well-chosen to be visually interesting.

My son, 8, likes this microscope and played with it for an hour on Christmas. It can be hard to get it to focus properly, but it's very nice and works well. He's pleased with it.

My granddaughter is eleven and no dolls for her! This was a hit because she got to see microorganisms in our water, inspect crystals and put things on the slides for closer inspection! Hours of fun without having a cell screen in her face! This was a great buy and worth the money!

We purchased this as a Christmas Gift for our six year old grandson. He is loving using it, and it is well made for this age group.

My aunt bought this for her 10 year old Grandson for Christmas and he loves it, it was the only gift he got that he couldn't put down but I got him a kit that came with fossils and he loved looking at them too..

I wasn't expecting anything crazy amazing with this, but I did expect it to actually show something! No matter what we do, we cannot see any object that we add to this. We can sort of see the premade slides, but NOTHING of the rocks. It seems to me the light just isn't bright enough at all. Definitely the disappointment of Christmas and was worth sending back, which I normally don't do.I rarely leave reviews, but this just wasn't worth the time or money.

I bought this microscope for my 6 year old grandson and he loves it! He is eager to take a closer look at what he finds in and around the house. It's a good starter set with handy instructions and suggestions on how to use it, too.

The initial setup was a little long and takes some time to understand how the microscope works, considering that it is very similar to the actual one. But once that part is done, then it is all fun for the kids.My kid loves putting everything under the microscope, even pieces of bread, her hair and every small thing lying around. It does spark an interest in kids about sciences.

Es tan primitivo y poco útil, que lo único que provoca en un niño es aburrimiento. La luz es mÃnima y cualquier niño tiene dificultades para enfocar. Un juguete que usará cinco minutos. =(

It's okay for a young child, but not the quality I'd expect for something with a Nat Geo brand on it.

Nice toy for teaching kids the basics of how to use a microscope, what it does, how different thing look when magnified. The magnification is not that good though.
