Rudimentary design, but it installed pretty easy and works well. Even comes with a little hole drilled in the end of the thumb lever so you can string down to another lever at the bottom of the gate.

I stared at the back of the packaging for quite a while trying to figure out what to do first. There are no step-by-step instructions. I tried searching the internet for more detailed instructions. The manufacturer has a YouTube channel with installation videos for various products, but not this specific product. There is a video with a similar product that gave me enough direction that I was able to figure out what to install first.Basically, you need to install the latch bar & guide first, then the thumb thingy that goes through the door, then the door handle, and lastly the catch. I was able to install it correctly the first time, after watching the video and using the measurements on the packaging.

Everything in the hardware stores is getting so pricey. Rather than replacing my antique door, that works perfectly fine, I opted for a new handle and latch to replace the old one.Works just like the original that was installed back in 1882 when the house was built.Bonus, was I got to keep my fat backside at home and have it delivered rather than make time to go outside, get fresh air and see the world.Don't get me wrong, I should have gone out. But this worked out better. So if you are inclined to just have it delivered, this should work a treat!

Attaching the latch catch first then lining up the catch bar next will set you up to locate the correct spot to drill the pass thru hole.

This could work for a dog house but not for an actual gate. My 7 yr old girl bent the latching bar so many times within the first month of install that I was concerned about it fracturing off if I bent it straight anymore. I went to Home Depot and bought what I thought this product was for about the same price. The Home Depot version is twice as big and twice as thick. I'm not worried bout my 7yr old breaking it. This was a waste of my time and money.

But what I don't like is that the thumb latch will fall out at some point. Not a great design, but I get what I paid for. I'll be replacing it in the future. It's not a smooth operating latch. It's not the first one I've installed so I can't be to blame.

Nice quality and finish. A bit difficult to install if you don't have a 1/2" drill bit.... The instructions aren't great but I got it to work and it's nice looking. I do a lot of DIY and this was a bit challenging if you're not too handy.

This is for a small gate job. It looks to be very sturdy.

its cheaply built & more flimsy than the standard home depot model but for the price its good- 5 stars for the value for the money

Very inexpensive and a decent value but also very lightweight. Should work ok on a small light gate/door as long as it doesn’t get slammed hard. The sturdiness is questionable. You get what you pay for!
