The hardware included with this knocker was not appropriate for standard thickness doors. I have to buy additional screws because the only ones included with it were way too long. It would have been nice if they had enclosed an additional shorter set of screws. It looks good, so as soon as I can get to the hardware store, I'll be able to install the knocker.

Looked good but holes did not line up perfectly with old door knocker. We had to enlarge the holes. Once it was installed, it looked great.

Finally after three failed attempts to replace our knocker I found one that fit. The holes in my door are 6 1/4 inch apart..... somewhere around there. The screws are longer to accommodate a thicker door. The directions explain this and say to cut the screw if needed. I had to cut off about 4 threads to get the right fit. Just used a basic hack saw and a file to smooth it off. Took all of 10 minutes, and it’s a great fit!!

It was very hard to find an antique brass knocker under $50, but when I came across this I decided to give it a try. It's a perfect fit and it looks very nice. The color is subtle - it's a satin-like finish that looks great on the door. Very pleased.

I should have read the reviews but figured that it's a door knocker and should be simple. The screws included are too long for a standard door and you're instructed to saw them to the appropriate length...we don't own a saw or file for this. It should have been a 5 minute job to switch out the old knocker with a new one. I'm not buying additional tools to do this.

This knocker is very attractive looking and matches my other Antique Brass hardware, however it I was very disappointed in the way the unit is installed. Two long 8-32 screws are inserted into two very shallow threaded holes in each end of the unit to mount the entire knocker. It really needs two long internally threaded studs that would accept screws from the other side. The screws are longer than required so you have to keep filing off a little at a time but if you go too far you're screwed. The screw only fastens with a couple of threads so there's not any leeway. Very poor design.

The unit arrived in good condition - no obvious flaws. The flat portion engraved well. Not a huge and massive door knocker, but good value for the money.
