Animal Rennet tablets are an outstanding rennet option containing enzymes extracted from calf abomasum. The production process is carried out using a traditional and mainly manually technology. Thanks to a drying phase in traditional ovens, the final product has a granular appearance and uniform white color. Its fundamental characteristics, such as constancy in processing and excellent solubility, allow to give the cheese a rich and long–lasting flavor. 1150 imcu

Use 1 tablet for 4 Liters (approx 1 gallon) of milk. Use for all types of cheeses including fresh and aged cheeses.

Note; you would generally use a Starter Culture to acidify the milk before adding rennet to the milk. (follow your recipe)

Directions: dissolve in a small amount of clean cool water, wait 5-10 minutes then pour across the milk surface, stirring for 3-4 gentle strokes. Contains 97% Chymosin & 3% Pepsin(enzymes), and salt. Organic and GMO Free.

I recently discovered that most rennets (plant based) being used are a GMO hybrid to make cheese.( due to the nature of the product they are not forced to disclose this so most people are unaware of the GMO side of cheesemaking) So we started making our own and have used the natural animal rennet and have had great results so far. Cheese is one of those long lost arts to manufacture or produce at home but once you get a hang of it, it's super simple and this product keeps everything natural.

I bought this brand because it was recommended by a guy I watched on YouTube making Mozzarella. The fact that he used more than what was recommended on the label should have been a warning, but I bought it. I use extra every time I make cheese and still have to wait a long time for the curd to form. I am right now in hour 2 of waiting for a clean break, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Since I have 4 gallons in the pot, I will hope for the best so as not to waste it. Don’t waste your time and money with this rennet. Get the good stuff. I purchased some liquid animal rennet and it forms a curd quickly even using less than the recommended amount.
