A brand new and unique design by Nautical Cove, our Antiqued Riveted Treasure Chest with Lock and Keys gives the appearance of secure pirate chests of old. We’ve developed a process to give an antique and worn look to all the iron hardware, decoration, and even the lock. The antique brass has hints of gold and black to really give it a unique look. Decorative rivet buttons are along all iron stripping, as well as iron corner brackets to give this chest a reinforced, extra strong look. While the iron pieces are decorative in nature, the chest is no less durable than our line of wood chests. It is made of thick, solid mango wood all around and each piece is hand-made by skilled artisans. The included solid iron antique lock and skeleton keys completes the look.

I got this treasure chest for my classrooms reward chest and the kids just love it! I love that it has an actual working lock because the kids get to use the key themselves when they've earned their prizes! Its held up the school year and kids use and abuse this far! I cant get over how realistic it really does look and didnt expect the lock to actually work. I plan to buy the bigger version for my home rooms rewards because this one was just so great.

When I first saw this chest, I was expecting it to be one of those extremely poor chests that would only be good for decoration but I was wrong.This chest is rather durable, hand made and very functional. It even has some staining that was obviously done by hand (each stroke was deliberate rather than throwin' the stain on).The old time padlock on the front IS ACTUALLY FUNCTIONAL! It does have a working locking mechanism (that took me a bit of time to learn how it works). The lock comes with 2 keys, so youll have a backup key if the first gets lost.After determining that this box is the real deal and can be used for its actual purpose, I promptly turned it into my pill safe (tiny humans around) and have confidence that it would keep the contents safe and out of the hands of curious kids.The only con that I have is the center pin that holds the key in place on the lock has fallen out twice. Without that center pin, having enough leverage on the key to turn the lever inside the lock is very challenging. This can be easily fixed with some 5 minute epoxy or other glue.Overall, I am VERY satisfied with this chest and would recommend it to any pirate out there.

Good quality, but a little smaller on the inside than expected but it's really well made. It looks like a real treasure chest. You can put a lock on it even. Now you can have your own rich stuff. Goonies never die!

So much about this chest is fantastic - it is well designed and well made (mostly - a feel of the bands have some wonky imprints, like they were misaligned during the imprinting....) So with how nice the treasure chest is, the lacking lock and key are kind of disappointing. They are painted gold but feel kind of flimsy. Luckily, the lock and key can be easily replaced so it's not a big loss. The treasure chest itself is quite nice - generously sized for a personal treasure chest. My daughter has claimed it already to keep all of her sentimental treasured within.

My son absolutely loves this. He had one similar, but it broke and I’ve been looking for months to replace it and finally came across this it’s well-made. It looks really well. It smells a little funny fresh out of the box but that went away quickly. The lock was a little hard to open and close, but that wasn’t really the important part. He really just wanted a box that he could keep his things in rocks and sticks. You know kids You drive really fast with absolutely no issues couldn’t be happier. It’s exactly as described.

I really like this little chest. It fits well with my decor. The lock was rather difficult to get to function, however. I did get it to work, but I had to do a lot of fiddling and wiggling to get the lock to open.

This isn’t like a large toy chest, it’s a smaller size and honestly would make a good decorative item. I was going to use it as decoration, but then my toddler actually used it to put stuff in so I ended up letting it be a kids chest. I put some learning toys and games in there and locked it so I can pull the games out when it’s time and not let the little one just open and close it at will. It works and is very cool. I put it up on a shelf in the kids area and you can’t tell what’s inside so it’s a plus. There’s much you can do with this chest. It’s worth the purchase especially if you’re going for a pirate theme or something similar. The one thing that was odd was the smell when I opened the box. It was a little stinky, but didn’t last long. Other than that, it’s great and I’d probably get another one for my other shelf.
