My neighbor's lawn service got a little careless and broke 3 sprinkler heads while my neighbor was out of town. I used an older version of this tool to remove the broken part in the threaded pipe without damaging the threads. My tool was slipping inside the pipe. I wasn't sure if the tool shaft was stripping. But because I have had it for years and it has saved my bacon many times I wanted the exact same tool. I ordered a new tool. Upon arrival I inspected the new tool versus the older version. My older blades were dull compared to the new tool. I used a file and now I have 2 working pipe thread repair and broken thread removal tools. Had I thought that the blades needed to be touched up I wouldn't have purchased another tool. That being said I ordered the exact same tool, why, because it's a great tool for the needed job, inexpensive, highly recommend.

I had a sprinkler riser break off at the PVC 90 degree elbow. It was a decades old joint and with no access except from above. Another similar tool didn’t work. The joint was extremely tight with years of deposits locking the two pieces together. This extraction tool did work. There are more and sharper teeth than the other tool. It saved having to dig up and replace pipe and the joint.I would 100% recommend.

This has worked great for 90% of my broken risers! Anything that keeps me from digging and wasting time and parts!Tip for the lawn care professionals. Walk the entire landscape and mark well the risers that stick up too high! But this tool will save the day!

The product works well for its intended purposes, and it has an essential, longer handle than the cheapo Orbit version at Home Depot, but the extractor end of the tool screws onto a metal handle and it is not as heavy duty as it used to be. Using this tool professionally on a daily basis, I have had my last two crack where the handle threads into the extractor. The original King Brothers went out of business and the product has been taken over by NDS, which makes good products. Hopefully they will improve and continue this tool.

Though I have not needed to use this tool yet, I am pretty sure I will get plenty of opportunity's this coming spring. It should really cut down on the labor of digging up sprinkler feed lines.

This worked so easy, and saved so much time trying a bag of tools and fighting to get the broken riser pipe out of the sprinkler system. Highly recommend this if you work on sprinkler systems. Thanks

The stub wrench that was shipped was NOT a King Brothers tool. Instead of being one piece, with a T-handle, this one has a round rod bent into a triangle handle. The business end is threaded onto the handle. From the product picture, the King Brothers appears to be better made and according to an answer to an above question, is made from one piece of metal. The King Brothers unit also is made in the US. This one (from NDS) isn't labeled as to country of origin, but I'll be very surprised if it's in the US. It also, not amusingly, has the same product number as the King Brothers tool. I'm sending it back.
