I can’t begin to say how many times I’ve been shooting video and suddenly wondered how much battery life was left in one of my LED lighting instruments. Worse yet is when a light dies while I’m shooting. Granted, I’ve become pretty good at checking things out before I begin shooting, but there are times when I simply need more extended battery life and can’t be tethered to AC.Neewer’s NW-F970D battery is removing a lot of that stress, giving me the longer run time I’ve often wanted. But it also offers features that make it both easy to use and, well, more useful. There’s a USB-C input to which you send a charging voltage from a USB supply. For the fastest charging time, use a 45W PD charger. But that same USB-C connector can also be used as an output. And, of course, there’s also a USB-A output connector. Use either output to employ the NW-F970D as a power bank!In addition to USB power out, though, there are two coaxial connectors. One provides 12VDC, the other 8VDC, allowing you to power some cameras, or any of a number of other pieces of gear that expand the Neewer battery’s usefulness.The integral battery meter not only displays the charge status in 25% increments while charging and shows the status at the push of a button, when not charging, but even warns the user that the battery charge is under 10% by flashing the first LED rapidly. Other LED combinations flash to indicate “over temperature protectionâ€, “overpower†and four more codes that indicate “over-current protection†for either of the USB outputs, the 8V output or the 12V output. That’s a surprising number of status indications, but I’ll admit that there’s no way I’m going to remember what each flashing LED combination means without looking it up in the tiny print found in the miniature instruction manual that I will likely lose before long.This thing is a powerhouse of potential, with a plethora of usage possibilities. I’d call that a 5-star rated product.

These NP batteries are industry standard. Originally for Sony cameras, they power everything from monitors like the Ninja V, to gimbals, to lights. Pretty much a universal piece of kit. This is almost better than the OEM Sony batteries because they added some features like a charge cable (that doesn’t require a charging base), and a display that indicates battery life. Love it.

Bought 4 10500mAh NP-F970. Not accurate LED Indicators. After using battery power, the LED Indicators show 3 or 2 lights but no power inside. It's Not accurate LED Indicators on any equipment I use(on camera light, wireless transmitter , receiver , camera). Inside battery 10% and LED Indicators. shows 3 lights.It's very hard fit in Sony PXW-Z150 4K XDCAM Camcorder.Battery looks puffed . Take out the battery from camera is much harder.I bought 4 battery and all are with same problems. I can't use it because I can't guess how much power left inside.The good thing on this battery is that it have 3 outputs.I can't return because I late. My final decision was thrown to garbage. LOST over $250.

This battery is great! First off, the battery is huge, enough power for my field monitor to run for a few hours. No issues with charging. Works amazing with my LED video lights. Will be ordering another one very soon. Neewer keeps putting good products out without disappointment.

It may sound cliche to say that Neewer never disappoints, but that's been my experience so far with their products. It feels like their R&D people are always thinking of ways to make their products better. And they seem to strive to build each new product solidly and designed to last.This replacement battery is no exception. Being able to check battery life with a push of the button is a real time saver. Plus, you can not only charge this big a** battery with a built-in USB port but, when you're phone or other small electronics are running low on juice, you can also use this battery as a power bank!As I say in many of my reviews, I can't attest to the durability or long-life of this product (since I just received it from Amazon). But I can say with some confidence that I have every expectation that this battery will serve me well for some time. (And if I learn otherwise, I'll update this review.)For now though, I can say that Neewer made another Wiinner. (And yes, that last typo was intentional.)
