This phone case is beautifully crafted, with a seamless design that allows for quick access and easy removal, yet stays securely locked in place when needed. It offers an impressive range of configurations for external rigging and lighting setups, making it perfect for those who want to elevate their mobile photography or videography. While some may find it a bit heavier, it’s not overly burdensome—and in my opinion, it’s definitely worth the investment. This case may not be your go-to daily driver, but it shines as a supplemental option when you want to step up your game and have the flexibility to mount various accessories and rigs. It’s the ideal tool for those looking to go pro without compromising on quality or versatility. jonniarmani.com

Great product. I bought this with my own money, no free promo deal or anything. I was looking for a nice cage that I could attach my own filters (comes with 67mm mount; I added step up ring to 72 or 77 for my filters). This was able to do that but given I do so much from audio production, videography, photography, events etc, I saw the freewell genius cage set up for double this price but having 2 handles that had a built in tripod and short monopod (I know I can buy these so much cheaper alone), the versatility was there and I was able to record more than ever just having things readily available in a relatively small package. I have an event coming up where I can’t have a bag larger than basically a small woman’s hand purse/wallet so I don’t want to carry a tripod and monopod in my pocket. This neewer cage is perfect if you are looking to have a very small footprint with some mounting points. I just prioritized flexibility and the convenience of the included monopod and tripod and shutter button in the free well as they added value me as someone who finds themselves having a hard time to sit down and actually record things for myself in addition to work life as a producer. If you’re already in a workflow and just need a cage to attach 67mm filter or mount t mount lens or etc, this kit has everything you need at a good price. The cage is very smooth compared to many other rigs I’ve held in my hand. Almost a little slippery but expected with the metal material.Worked for me but I wanted a little bit more so I’m still looking for a way to convert 67mm filter onto freewell case…

I film a lot for FISHING content and this really does extremely well for my phone. I’ve looked at many different ones and this is the one that works great it is for the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the phone fits in their perfectly.

This cage is tight. It snuggly holds my 16 Pro Max in place and the cutout rubber plug that protects the camera bar when not in use is perfectly sized. I wish that plug came in other colors. The anodized black finish is a nice touch.I ended up getting another for my significant other’s iPhone 16 pro because she likes taking photos when she travels and wants to borrow some of my lenses on the next trip. I did it difficult to own a smartphone with such a great camera and not accessorize it with the best possible gear.My biggest gripe with this cage would be the lack of abundant options for the claw clasp to hold accessories on seeing as that had been the most difficult thing to find many choices on.The frame isn’t too much heavier than any other cage I’ve used but it is more comfortable to cold in comparison to the Smallrig cage I had for my 12 Max Pro. On that one the outer edges were sharply angled to make for an uncomfortable hold over long periods unless you had a handle installed. The difference here, and I thank the designers, is that the frame edges are rounded off so it is a more natural hold and can allow you to use the frame as just a case when not shooting video or photos. The price isn’t terrible as I’ve seen cases that do less for the phone and charge far more. The case also comes with three inserts for the camera array. A 67mm threaded lens adapter, a 17mm threaded adapter, and the T-mount/M-mount adapter (it is suggested to use T-mount lenses on this phone)While I am disappointed there are only two cold shoe mounts on this larger sized cage, there are 4 grooves to mount a specialized claw mount connector to the frame on all four sides that certain handle mounts connect to. There is also a big enough space that is free over the MagSafe area to attach other accessories without minimal issue. This frame is extremely solid and well put together when compared to the Smallrig frame for my 12 Pro Max as the way that was screwed together the screws would vibrate loose because of loose fitting around the phone and bad design choices. This is far more solid without rattling when I shake it meaning the parts are all snugly fitted, even the camera array plates. It also has a small lever that locks the top of the case to keep the phone in so there are few chances that will accidentally open. With how well this case is made, it is quieter than my other was due to the soft feel of the rounded corners, all the screws are tight, the overlap of the silicone liner that keeps the phone firmly in the frame. I love that I don’t hear rattling. There is also a lanyard connector so you can attach the phone to a wrist strap or a lanyard around your neck. The ease of use has to do with the solid build and tool free attachments of the camera lens templates. The attach solidly and have a silicone “shoe†on them and a ballbearing to keep the plate from wiggling. I would advise you to lay the phone on a flat surface when applying the lens plate as it requires some practice to know how hard to press to seat the tabs in place. Attempt to put one side “downward†then the other. You’ll see what I mean. The buttons all remain prominent and functional with the design for normal use. I even have a glass screen shield on as well as a camera shield and it all fits together wellUsing these cages for my family’s iPhone 16 pro and my iPhone 16 Pro Max is a good choice for making home videos and vacation photos look great. Lens attachments for the T-mount lenses, 17mm and 67mm lenses allows for better quality videos with the quality your phone was designed for. You can mount lights to it and or an external mic with the two cold shoe mounts and 10 1/4†screw mounts. Amazing case.Something to consider with these cases is width. Some of the automatic grabbing phone mounts for your vehicle do not open wide enough to grab the iPhone 16 Pro Max while it is in the cage but your iPhone 16 pro should just make it into some of them.

This case has been great. It’s been attached to a tripod since I got it super sturdy very professional build quality.

Really love the case… just make sure your tripod is able to hold the wider phone with case. I had to return one phone stick/tripod because it would not stretch enough to hold the video case.

Bought this instead of the smallrig Brandon Li version. This one feels cheap, scratches extremely easily. Handles don’t hold very well. Returning

The cage itself is great. It's light, it's strudy and it just about everything I thought it would be when i orderd it. There are lots of places for attachments such as handles, lights, tripods and so on... The cage is great. 5/5. This is a great base for the aspiring cell phone photographer or vlogger. There's room to grow and customize. The plates.... The 17mm plate is OK. It snaps into place with ease. It's secure, lines up with the cameras and is as easy to remove as it was to put in place. That said, it takes a little more work than it should to attach a lense. The thread are the right size and all, but it really seems to take a lot of timnkering to get the lens attached. I tried sevreal different lenses form a couple different sets, and they ll seemed to handle abnout the same. I was pleased with the end result, just not the time and tinkering it took to get there. I looked a lot of cases and cages that would allow for 17mm lenses to be attached. This seemed to be the best choice, so it's a bit of a cramp that there's that bit of frustration in the execution. Perhaps a little more time and useage will smooth things out.The 67mm plate is 67mm. That's it. I would have prefferred 58mm, but there are stepdown adapters so it's not really an isssue. Don't currently use T-mount lenses, so nothing good or bad to say about it. .

Very impressed with the quality of this cage . Now ordering all the extras I wanted for so long but no way to use . As they say this is “the cats ass†, meaning just what the doctor ordered
