This is my first gimbal, when it arrived I noticed it lagged at times, vibrations in the handle, but without a reference I thought that’s just how they are, it was subtle and intermittent. Then the remote camera twisted 90 degrees for no reason, and the AI wouldn’t track when it thinks your sideways.I called their customer service line, they sent me a new one. It’s SO smooth in comparison. It’s working great. I give 5 stars because, nothing perfect in this world, but this company owned their mistake. This thing’s awesome, we market our business, and it’s nice having a “camera man†when you need it.Gimbals take practice —more than I thought —but you will likely be very happy with this purchase. My wife and I are very happy with it.

This is my third gimbal, the others were roughly one third the price of this one, but the features/functions/capabilities of this gimbal are far ahead as you would expect at three times the cost. There is a Youtube video that explains how to use the gimbal very completely, just search for Hohem M7 Gimbal and you should be able to find the video which has indexes for ten parts. If you have not already figured it out, this is a pretty complex tool to use. It does a lot, but requires some effort to master the features. One of the unique features is that the AI tracker has a 2MP camera you can view using the detachable remote, this feature allows you to do several adjustments particularly with the AI tracking when you put the gimbal on a tripod.When you first get the gimbal, take a picture of the way it fits in the case to help save time when you need to put it away, there are three locks on the gimbal motors and you must lock them in the right spots for the device to fit in the case. Next, charge the gimbal before you try to install a phone, turn on the gimbal, or unlock any of the motors. There are photos of the quick start guide attached, if you are considering this gimbal, I would suggest looking at the guide and finding the video to ensure you know what to expect. There are several Hohem apps, but the video instructions say to use the Hohem Joy app. There is a newer Hohem gimbal app that I thought might be the one to use, but the instruction video is recent, so I stuck with the app in the video. You can use the Hohem Joy app or another camera app with the gimbal, I prefer to use my own camera app, but there are options. The gimbal essentially performs in two ways - as a stabilized camera platform and as an AI driven tracking camera. The primary function of either is to give you stable videos. I like the fact that you charge the remote, AI tracker, and gimbal through one USB C port. In a pinch, the gimbal can be used to charge your phone, but I don't see myself using that function. The gimbal came with a tripod; two cables (for charging the gimbal with USB A to USB C or for charging your phone with USB C to USB C; a form fitted case; and the quick start guide, warranty information, and safety information. The video says it takes 3 hours to charge the gimbal fully, which makes sense as it draws on 3 W while charging. The removable remote on this gimbal is really the standout feature, it takes on some of the features you would expect to see on your phone when your phone is attached to the gimbal. My only complaint about the gimbal is I wish it had a better mounting for a small action camera.

This gimbal stabilizer is pretty neat! I am still learning and getting used to this but so far very impressed. It connected easily to my phone and the battery life duration is really good, it held up well for a six hour event. It is not too heavy or cumbersome. Some of the features are a bit tricky to master, but nothing that cannot be attained with consistent use. This is my first experience with a gimbal and I was able to learn very quickly on the go. The price is absolutely good for the money. I highly recommend this.

Returning. I hate it. Even if it was half the price it’s still junk. Functions work then don’t. Have to reset it every 15/20 mins to get whatever you want working again. Tracking doesn’t maintain framing at all. Remote to view screen works with the ai camera not your phone, so it is not showing you the actual framing. No recording light to indicate if it’s shooting or not. Doesn’t let you plug in phone, though the advertising made that seem like an option. Hand signals don’t work well and require constant retry’s. I could go on. Filming an hour of content took 7, and that was after watching multiple tutorials.No good for solo content filming. Give it a bit for the tech to catch up to the idea.
