This thing is great. If you are troubleshooting an issue with the trailer harness and brake controller wiring OR are just a paranoid dude like me and want to verify 100% functionality at the 7-pin connector prior to hookup, this thing is the answer! I use this every time I hook up my travel trailer for a trip when it's been a while. It gives me one less safety item to worry about.Not only do you get "idiot" lights showing connectivity, but you also get to verify that the brake actuation level is working correctly. This is the kind of test set I have come to expect from working on aircraft, and I have always been disappointed not to have it for my car. No more! :-)I also like that the part I'm most likely to break in the future (the actual cable assembly) is connectorized to the test set - and it uses an industry-standard D-sub to do it! That's class right there. So yeah, this is expensive, but it's going live forever, and I can repair the most likely failure point myself.Zero regrets about this purchase! Hats off to IPA - you guys rock!

Working by myself on a 2016 GMC 2500 HD, and replacing the trailer electronic plug, this trailer load simulator worked GREAT. The long wire to the plug being tested allowed me to sit in the drivers seat and "see" the brake, turn signal, and backup light circuits work (or not). Then, the factory e-brake system could be verified and actually preset with no trailer available, all from the cockpit. Glad I had this.

This device helped me solve my problem, and worked very well and has a nicely long cord. Very handy. The only gripe I have is the price.
