About this item

  • BUY THE RIGHT SIZE: works with KitchenAid 5 Quart Bowl-Lift mixer with a stainless steel bowl, if your stand mixer bowl measures between 8 and 8.5-inches diameter, across the top of the bowl, this is the correct BeaterBlade to purchase
  • KA-5L does NOT work with 5 Quart Glass Bowls or the Professional 5-Plus mixer (5-Plus BeaterBlade is coming in Fall 2022)
  • BeaterBlade pushes food down, not out of mixer; scrapes bowl all the way to the dimple and cuts mixing time by 50%
  • Use BeaterBlade as a hand held spatula to transfer batter; do not use blade in an empty bowl
  • Always made in the USA from high impact plastic; dishwasher safe
  • FITS KITCHENAID 5-QT BOWL LIFT MIXERS ONLY: K5SS, KSM5, KP5OPS, K5-A, K4SS, KSM500, KSMC50, KG25HOX, KG25H3X, KSM6573, KSM50HDP, KG257X, KM25H7X, KM25GOX, KG25GOX

The Original BeaterBlade from New Metro Design is always made in the USA. The Original BeaterBlade replaces the flat beater that comes with most stand mixers. The patented Wing-Blade technology virtually eliminates the need for hand-scraping the bowl and pushes ingredients down to the dimple, in the bottom of the bowl, thoroughly combining all ingredients, 50% faster. To achieve a fluffy, aerated mixture (think creamed butter and sugar), beat at a higher speed. To achieve a smooth, thick mixture (think cheese cake), beat at lower speed. Use the BeaterBlade as a hand-held spatula to transfer every bit of batter into the pan. KA-5L BeaterBlades are compatible with most KitchenAid 5 Quart Bowl-Lift stand mixers, however it does NOT work with a 5 Quart glass bowl or the Professional 5-Plus mixer. Do not operate BeaterBlade in an empty mixing bowl. The Original BeaterBlade is always made in the USA, the frame is made from high impact plastic and the flexible plastic blades are free of rubber, silicone and Teflon. Dishwasher safe for convenience and quick clean up!

My Mom passed away a few months ago and I inherited her Kitchen Aid Mixer. Included with the attachments was a Beater Blade. I took it out and saw the blade had broken. I don't know how Mom broke it, but after reading the product reviews on Amazon, I ordered a new one. When it arrived, the package said "Lifetime Guarantee." I wrote to New Metro Design, and told them my situation. I don't know how it broke, and frankly, didn't think they would replace it. THEY DID! And gave me a newer model! So, if anyone is wondering whether they should take a chance and buy this excellent tool (many reviews have wondered if it would last), know that you are buying from a company that stands behind its products. It is both an excellent tool (I've only used it to make cookies, but it works GREAT!) AND an excellent company. What a nice surprise when me and my family have been so sad after losing my wonderful Mom. It was greatly appreciated!

Got this for my lift mixer. Works as described. This item is plastic so I’ll see how durable it is but as of now working fine. I’ve used it once so far for a cake I made. Wiped the sides nicely. Easy to wash and clean. Wish I could have tasted that cake to say it did a wonderful job but our dog helped herself to the cake as it was cooling on the range. I am liking it so far. For the price I would recommend. Only time will tell how durable it is.

Ordered this a couple of weeks ago and just used it yesterday for brownies. I was disappointed at first when I received this blade and attached it to my Pro 600 6 qt mixer just to see if it would fit. It seemed like it was too big because the beater touched the bottom of the bowl (bowl was adjusted properly). I turned it on and the beater turned just fine but did hit the sides of the bowl slightly. So, I put it away for a week or so before actually using it to make something. Yesterday, I tried using it to make brownies and it was GREAT! I discovered that with it being a beater blade and the purpose of it to eliminate having to scrape the bowl, it has to fit a little more snugly to do its job. Once you have food in there and the rubber scrapers get "lubed up" with whatever you're mixing, it works just great and does what it should - hits the bowl closely enough that you will not have to scrape the bowl at all! I made a double batch of brownies and did not have to scrape once! So, just give this little beater blade a chance. Others have also said that theirs have broken in places, but I think that is from using it for something that is just too thick. I think this will be great for thinner batters like: cakes, brownies, frostings, etc. I won't use it for thicker recipes like cookie dough, etc. So, just use common sense by not using it for any recipe that is too thick and expect it to fit a little more snugly so it can do its job and you'll love it!!

I have used this for a couple of weeks now. I own a cottage bakery and use this at least 5 days per week. I have purchased several different paddles like this and have never been completely happy with them because the did not effectively hit/scrape the batter from the side of the bowl. This paddle does the job VERY well! I am suprised it is not Kitchen Aid brand because it works so well with my Kitchen Aid Professional 600 mixer bowl! The paddle is very light, so I questioned the quality at first. I will have to update my review after more than a few months of use, but so far, so good! 4 MONTHS LATER: I still feel the same way! LOVE them and they are holding up to constant dishwasher cleaning!

On December 23, as I started to make some cookies, I realized my original Kitchenaid paddle was completely oxidized and turning everything it touched black. Panicked, I sent my husband out to the store to purchase a new paddle and he came home with the wrong size. When I checked the stock at that particular store and same brand stores in the area, they were completely sold out of everything so I was sunk for making Christmas cookies. Once the holiday was over, I started searching for a replacement paddle. This one popped up several times, but I scrolled past because I was concerned about the fact that it was plastic. However, after doing a bunch of research, I circled back to this product simply because they showed how to measure the size of my bowl to make sure it would fit.Yesterday I finally decided to make a batch of oatmeal cookies. Now I should process this by saying that I have had this KitchenAid lift mixer for over 20 years and the paddle and whisk have never hit the bottom of the bowl properly. I have an odd 5.5 quart lift mixer that never passed the dime test. I’ve been used to having to mix by hand several times during the process of making a batter to ensure that everything on the bottom is getting incorporated into the batter. Making this batch of oatmeal cookies was the most pleasant experience I’ve had since owning this particular model. I didn’t once have to scrape down the sides or make sure that the bottom was mixed because I could see that it was all getting done by the mixer without any interference From me. I will update this review if anything goes wrong in the future with this paddle but so far I am absolutely ecstatic! I wish I had purchased this or even known about this product sooner it would have solved so many of my problems. I think I’ll look to see if they have any other parts for my machine!

I’ve gone through 3 kitchen aid metal beaters with powder coating which always ends up chipping off and getting all gross. For the price they charge, they should be made more durable! It’s been a real pain over the years! FINALLY I have found this beater and couldn’t be happier!! It works pretty well (doesn’t scrape the sides like it should) and not going to end up chipping anytime soon!! WOOHOO!!!!

Das Beaterblade arbeitet sehr zuverlässig und nimmt den Teig von der Schüssel mit.Die Verarbeitung ist gut.Leider besteht es aus Kunststoff und nicht aus Edelstahl was optimaler wäre.

This works great and yes, there is no need to stop machine to scrap the sides. But the quality of this product is questionable. After 1 use, the rubber blades start to fray… not sure how long or how safe the gadget will work
