Works great, if you order the correct kit. I ordered this rebuild kit for a Honda wheeler, not a Polaris. The starter actually turns the different direction on the Polaris. The brush plate is opposite the Honda. So, I flipped the yoke around and it starts up great. Order the right kit, or it's just a bit annoying. This kit however was a full rebuild kit and worked perfectly!

NOTHING FIT EXCEPT O RINGS ,..TOTALLY WORTHLESS..THIS KIT WAS NOT FOR WHAT THEY SAID IT WAS FOR..I WAS RIPPED OFF AND WON,T WASTE MY TIME TRYING TO GET BACK MY 16$ I WAS THURALLY CLEAR ON MY MACHINE FITMENT!!!

I purchased this part to rebuild a KTM LC4 SM-13 starter motor. I only "needed" the brushes and I am glad because this kit is for a starter that turns the opposite direction. I was able to use the brushes by removing them from this kit's plate and installing them on my old plate. I was able to use all the O-rings but not the internal seal/bushing/bearing. I took a chance on this kit thinking that KTM and Polaris were working closely in the timeframe that my bike was built. I was wrong. The seller is obviously knowledgable about starters, I wish the description explained that SM-13 starters are not all the same. It would be even better if a link were provided to alternative similar kits.3 stars rather than 5 were given because the parts in this kit are not OEM quality. The insulating washers included in this kit appear to be cardboard instead of phenolic resin and I ended up reusing the old ones rather than gamble on these. I could not use the bearing included but it is chinese rather than OEM quality Japanese. A decent deal for $17 but I'd have paid more for a better kit if I could have found one.

Order the right one. The starter turned the wrong way and bearing and race were the wrong size. Better description would help

Parts did not work! From what I can figure out, the starter was turning backwards! I took the new brushes off the new unit, and soldered them onto the old unit to make it work.

Everything you need if comintator and windings are still good. This is just brushes, bearings, and seals.
