I ordered the Upgraded Bread Slicer from Bluetulaba because I needed a slicer that could adjust to the loaves, big and small, that I buy from local bakeries. Some of the slicers I checked out online didn’t adjust, which surprised me. I think they’re intended for sandwich loaves only, the kind baked in a regulation loaf pan. Many home bakers are fond of these.I’m a terrible baker, so I must buy my loaves. They tend to be all different shapes and sizes, from round to oval to oblong. I love them to include as much whole grain as possible as well as seeds and often other things like olives or nuts. Slicing them free-form with a knife has been problematical, because it’s difficult to get uniform slice widths for a loaf, or even a uniform width on a single slice, which might start off wide at the top and narrow at the bottom!This slicer has really made the slicing job easy and uniform. It fits whatever loaf I give it, and with the side guides, the slicing is uniform. It’s still difficult to slice through the tough bottom crust, but that’s not the slicer’s fault—it’s just an aspect of such wonderful bread.The slicer is sturdy, all the pieces fit securely, it’s stable when put together, and breaks down easily when not in use. For the time being I’m storing it in the narrow cardboard box it came in, which doesn’t take up much room; I’d like to find a plastic container the same size to do that job. I’m really happy with this slicer and recommend it.

I’ve been needing a bread slicer for my sourdough bread and this one has been working great. It’s sturdy and fits a large loaf. It gives me nice even slices and then I store my bread in a bread bag. It’s easy to clean too.

it is useable but the plastic makes it a little clunky. i think wood would work better.

This is a pretty basic product, designed to help bakers slice their bread into even slices. While basic, it has saved me hours of heartache over unevenly sliced bread.I'm in agreement with the other reviewers, the features of this product work well: the crumb tray catches the crumbs and the adjustments work. I use it for sandwich bread and find these slices the perfect width. I bake bread in pullman loaf pans and the loaves fit perfectly. The product collapses easily for storage. It would have been nice for the product box to be more sturdy so I could use it for storage as well, but that's more of a personal preference.

Rails can be adjusted to different widths of bread but not height. If you have a long piece, just don't use the "end" piece, move it along manually. Plastic makes it easy to clean, seems fairly sturdy for the price. Bread crumb tray catches the mess you make when you slice the bread. It can be taken apart for ease of cleaning and put away to be stored.Works fine for baguettes and loaves of various square or rectangular bread but most round loafs it will be useless.

I would have added a pic, but you can see it better in the ad. I don't understand why anyone would have complaints about this. It is simple and straight forward. It is designed to do one thing and it does that. It's a guide to help you slice bread. That's it! Nothing less, nothing more.I like it, the wife likes it, and that is the most important thing. It is easy to assemble, disassemble, use, and clean.As far as I am concerned, this gets 5 stars. If anything should happen to change my opinion, I will update this review.

Ok so here is the deal for me. Does this do what it is intended for, yes. Do I need it? .... Even flat it takes up storage space. I also have to keep the pieces together.It does what it is intended for. There is a tray to catch crumbs. I appreciate how adjustable this is. You can adjust the width as well as the placement of the back holder for the bread. It is easy to cut. With the current design you can cut all the way through the bred through the very bottom. It works very well! It is sturdy.If you have a really hard time cutting bread or if you want to cut really hot bread and not burn your hands or if you just need really even slices this would be a great addition to your kitchen!
