· This basic on/off remote control system provides a safe, reliable, and user-friendly remote control for milli-volt valve gas appliances. The system can be manually turned on and off with the transmitter. Always check with the home owner’s manual of the appliance for additional information, warnings regarding accessory installation before connecting this remote control system.
· INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
Carefully inspect the contents for shipping damage. If any parts are missing or damaged, immediately contact the dealer from whom you purchased the kit. Do not attempt to install any part of the kit unless all parts are in good condition. Please keep these instructions for future reference.
Important Safety Information:

- This remote control system is designed for use with a millivolt or 24V gas valve system. Do not use thisremote control system on applications with voltages above 24 Volts AC/DC and 1 amp current.
- This remote control system requires two (2) “AAA” and four (4) “AA” alkaline batteries to power thetransmitter and receiver.
- Wiring must conform to appliance requirement and building codes/ordinances as required by local andnational code authorities having jurisdiction.
- Do not short (or jumper) across the gas valve terminals to test the remote control installation. This could damage the unit and void the.
- This remote control system should only be used as described in this manual. Any other use is prohibited and will void the.
Black and white wall cover plate
Black and white wall cover plates allow you to choose a suitable installation scheme according to your environment. Make your installation more beautiful, blend better with your furniture environment.
Transmitter opreations
The 30 foot operating distance allows you to easily control the fireplace anywhere in your home.
The remote transmitter uses three (2) “AAA” batteries.
Distance is reduced when batteries are low or when the receiver is inside a metal enclosure.
The batteries should be replaced at least once every 6 months or when the battery indicator flashes.
Remote control receiver
Due to the limitation of air transportation, you need to purchase (2) “AAA” and four (4) “AA” alkaline batteries to power the transmitter and receiver.
The 22-inch plug-in connection cable makes it easier to install, use, and replace the gas fireplace remote control kit.
Installation and operation tips
Turn appliance OFF and allow to cool before installing or servicing. DO NOT connect 110-120 VAC wiring to the milli-volt gas control valve.
The remote operator must be installed exactly as outlined in these instructions. Read all instructions completely before attempting installation. Follow instructions carefully during installation. Any modification of components will void the and may cause a fire hazard.
Turn appliance OFF (at the appliance or remote receiver) if you are away from your house for a long period of time.
Do not use two (2) or more remote control systems in the same area with the same dip switch settings, as they will communicate with each other. This may cause the appliances to malfunction.

Works just as advertised. Easy to install and now we use the fireplace all the time instead of just occasionally.Actually was made for another type of fireplace, but was able to install inline in place of the on/off switch.

Removed old receiver and installed the new one. It would flash the light when remote was pushed but the fireplace would not come on. I put the old receiver back in and the fireplace would come on. I put new batteries in it and clean the connectors. Either the product, is it compatible as stated or this one's defective?.

We had a wall switch for 18 years to turn the fireplace on and off. In a few minutes I replaced the switch with the remote control switch and it works perfectly. I didn’t have to do anything on the fireplace itself.My wife thought it was silly to add a remote control and now she loves it.

This was very simple to install. The two leads plugged in perfectly to where I unplugged the old unit. Put 2 AAA batteries in the remote and it worked immediately. It was better than expected for the price I paid.

After I put the AA battery's in it I smelled something burning and the whole inside was melting

Works as advertisedThe base unit goes thru batteries quicker then I think it should (1–2-week lifetime for Alkaline batteries)Remote works well and the displayed temperature is accurateI like that it can be configured either white or black.
