Great buy for sealed system refrigeration work. In a customers home trying to protect the floor and product can be difficult depending on area available but these make a world of difference and work great if a bead of solder rolls off it catches it perfectly.

Just completed a large plumbing job in my home, and used this blanket for probably 20 different joints, with direct MAP gas flame exposure. It still looks as it did when new, and did a great job at protecting the surroundings.

This did a great job protecting against heat from torches, solder, etc. My only complaint is that it drops fuzz/fibers easily. E.g. I dropped a piece of solder on it and when I picked it up with tweezers, bits of the fibers came with it. I’m guessing there was some flux on the tweezers that the fibers stuck to.

I bought this to handle hot parts after welding. It worked great. I got curious and took a map gas flame to it and the map gas didn't do anything to it. This thing is great.

I sweated in a sillcock a half inch from a floor joist. I tacked these in between the joist and pipe. the wood never even got warm. Super impressed with these.

I recently purchased the Newtex High-Temperature Carbon Fiber Soldering Heat Shield (9" x 12") to protect surfaces during soldering projects. It did exactly what it was supposed to . Soldering pipe joints in close proximity to the wall board and not mark on the wall board when done
