I had an electric buzzing sound coming from the fuse box that happened every so often in my 2007 Honda Civic. When I heard the buzzing, the starter wouldn’t start. Did a little bit of research and found that the ignition switch was the culprit. This was the cheapest one I found and had quick delivery. Took me maybe 30 minutes to do the installation. I’ve had it for a while now and no problems at all. Good part.

It's only recently that I realized this part was not only defective, but used. I had installed this part months ago, but it didn't solve the issue. So I assumed there was something else wrong with my car. However, I recently purchased another replacement ignition switch from Auto Zone to see if maybe the part I had installed a few months ago was defective. The new part was difficult to install and the fit wasn't good. The screw holes didn't align well. So I re-inspected the previous part from Amazon that I was replacing and noticed that the screw holes had been drilled out and widened to align with the car. I inspected the pay closer and noticed scuffs and nicks in the part where it looks like someone had used a razor to cut away plastic to make a better fit. It was clear that this was either done by the Amazon seller, (which would be a bad idea on their part) or was done by a previous owner. I'm not sure if this was an actual part ordered and returned to Amazon, or if it was actually the original part replaced in someone's car that was defective and returned as if it were the Amazon part. But for sure it was a return and resold to me without being checked for quality and reliability. I should have inspected it better when I originally purchased it from Amazon, so that's on me. And I don't expect any kind of compensation. Just a heads up on this seller. And BTW, the new part installed from Auto Zone works like a charm going on nearly a month later after install.
