This weather radio works very great! Antenna receives weather radio stations very well and so does the external antenna it comes with. The red SOS light flashes during alerts and works great. It’s easy to program and will sound a siren for alerts in your area. I would recommend this to people who are considering to buy a weather radio.

I live in tornado alley so severe weather alerts are a must. I can now review this because we've had several alerts this week. I bought this to replace my old noaa radio because it had a very small antenna and poor reception.I am overall very pleased with this emergency radio. I love that came with a wire extension antenna which allows for perfect crisp reception in my location and no missed alerts. I love the optional wall mountable red siren light, it really gets your attention. Programming it was fairly simple and straightforward, but you have to call the noaa phoneline to get your county codes to program it. The only flaw I see is it could be louder. It's a fairly loud alert, but not as loud as my old one and not loud enough to wake you up if sleeping unless its in the same room. My husband is hard of hearing and he really can't make it out unless he's standing close to the radio

Good volume so you can always hear it. We get severe weather alerts from this very clearly has back up batteries in case of power outage. We don’t have local storm sirens so this does the job.

I really wanted to love this radio. I placed it 4-5 different places in my house on battery and plugged in and you couldn't hear the radio over the static. I plugged it in right next to my present weather radio (which is crystal clear) and still had very loud static.

Radio works great. The instructions for setup are a little vague in the configuring of the SAME and alert station but after some trial and error it is working as advertised.

I say once due to the fact that 1 week outa the box we had a real SEVERE evening weather events . This unit worked so wonderfully clear and concise I called the company with all the complimentary lauldits that I could list the next day!Big mistake. That was the only time it worked to that standard! There's no place in the house with or without the outdoor*antenna* that I can place the unit that brings anything but static!I gave the radio 2 stars for the one time that it performed admirably none better! Then 2 stars for how it's performed since then.Good luck to all who purchase this Weather Radio as it has the ability to be one fine piece of Craftsmanship, if it so decides to!

Basic instructions OK except terms used during programming are not exact enough for me in places. (And I love to tinker.) During testing phase I used loudest volume settings for alarm but a bit disappointed. My old one could alert me all over the house. Waiting to see how Verbal vs Siren alert works. This one would scream too long (5 mins.) until push a button to get verbal info. Instructions says Verbal alert will give loud verbal report that I want but until I get an alert I won't know if it will at least alarm a bit first and then go verbal even if I don't press a button. Who wants to run down stairs awakened from sleep to push a button to know why?
