Product Description

NH-D15 G2 LBC Header

The NH-D15 G2 is the further improved second generation of Noctua’s iconic NH-D15. With its state-of-the-art, speed-offset NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans, eight heatpipes and asymmetrical fin-stacks that have been carefully fine-tuned to work in tandem with the new fans, it achieves even better quiet cooling performance than its award-winning predecessor. As such, the G2 version is a true flagship model that continues the legacy of the original NH-D15 by pushing the boundaries of air cooling and rivalling the efficiency of many all-in-one (AIO) water cooling solutions. Optimised for relatively flat CPUs, the specialised Low Base Convexity (LBC) version provides excellent contact quality on AMD’s AM5 processors, even if the included offset mounting option isn’t used. In addition to its further improved performance, the NH-D15 G2 also offers enhanced compatibility thanks to an offset construction that allows it to clear the top PCIe x16 slot on most current motherboards. Last but not least, the G2 version has been upgraded to the Torx-based SecuFirm2+ multi-socket mounting system with included NM-SD1 screwdriver as well as to Noctua’s superior NT-H2 thermal compound. In short, the NH-D15 G2 has been further refined in virtually all respects from the heatsink and the fans all the way down to the mounting, thermal paste and accessory package, making it an ideal choice for customers who demand the best of the best in air cooling.

NH-D15 G2

More performance, smaller size

Thanks to the higher fin density made possible by the new NF-A14x25r G2 fans as well as the asymmetrical fin-stacks and a slightly smaller gap between the stacks, the G2 version combines improved performance with a slightly smaller size compared to the original NH-D15 (9mm less heatsink depth, same heatsink width, same total height including fans).

NH-D15 G2

8 heatpipes for superior performance at higher heat-loads

The NH-D15 G2 utilises eight instead of six heatpipes compared to the original NH-D15. The increased thermal capacity of the extra heatpipes is especially helpful at extreme heat-loads such as 250W and beyond, where the performance boost over the original NH-D15 is the biggest.

NF-A14x25r G2

Two NF-A14x25r G2 fans

Noctua’s next-generation NF-A14x25r G2 fans set a new benchmark for performance-to-noise efficiency in round-frame 140mm fans. Their superb acoustics as well as their superior airflow and pressure characteristics are one of the cornerstones that enable the NH-D15 G2 to push beyond its legendary predecessor.

AMD AM5

Specialised LBC (Low Base Convexity) version

The Low Base Convexity (LBC) version achieves optimal contact quality on relatively flat CPUs. As such, it is ideal for AM5 even if the offset mounting isn't used or if users seek to combine the lowest possible CCD temperatures with the lowest possible IOD temperatures. The LBC version is also recommended for AM4, LGA2066 and LGA2011 (-3) (free-of-charge NM-i20xx mounting kit required), direct die applications as well as CPUs that have been lapped flat or outfitted with flat custom heat-spreaders.

You get what you pay for. In this case, you are getting an air cooler that is literally the best of the best with refinement and attention to detail. My maximum temp on my Ryzen 7 9800X3D won't exceed 73 deg C and that is with the fans at 70%. Speaking of the fans, I cannot hear them and there are TWO of them mounted to this cooler. Even at 70% I still cannot hear them.I think the stellar performance is due to the fact this is a LBC cooler, specifically machined super flat with no concavity or convexity, so contact with the IHS is superb.Included are some very important accessories:1. Socket AM5 processor thermal paste guard/shield2. Noctua NH-2 thermal paste (as good as Arctic MX-6, but easier to spread)3. Easy to use off-set mounting solution that can also be used in "standard" mode without the 7mm AMD offset4. Low noise adapter cable, but you won't need it!NOTE: DO NOT use this with any Intel CPU. Intel CPUs don't have a flat IHS and tend to distort under their mounting pressure over time anyway. Get the regular NH-D15 G2 (AMD or Intel) or NH-D15 G2 HBC (high base convexity) for Intel specific applications. The only downside is the price. That said, the only way you will get a better cooler for your AM5 CPU is if you switch to water cooling and the issues that can come with.

Build quality is immaculate. Assembly instructions are simple and easy to follow, no missing parts. I used the offset position and had no clearance issues, fit was perfect I had 2mm of space between the cooler and my ram. As for the looks, it's Noctua lol I wish they had the black version out already. Cooling performance is superb (dropped 10°C in idle and gaming) paired it with some ptm7950 for an additional 3°C reduction. My 7800x3d idles at 46°C and almost never goes above 60°C while gaming, except for more cpu heavy games although i do usually aim for 120fps. In Call of Duty it does hit 70°C (highest temp for my games) but I am pushing 170fps. (Alienware Qd-oled ultrawide with a 4080) Also my pc is silent even under gaming and I have open back headphones 🎧. Good job to Noctua, as always.
