I started tufting about 10 weeks ago. I am retired, so that means I can spend a lot of time and too much money on things that I find satisfying. I am outgrowing my first frame, but not yet skilled enough for the really big frame that I already have. This is perfect in lots of ways:1. I had no trouble putting it together without help.2. It’s really light, so I can easily move it.3. It’s exactly the right width for my supply of cloth. I had a lot of wastage with the smaller frame.4. The fabric is TIGHT when stretched. You can see in the pic how I wrapped it around the sides before attaching it. It took more time than with carpet tack strips, so it is so worth it. No tearing no matter how tight you go.5. It comes with way more fasteners than you could use at one time and that’s great insurance for when the dog snatches one.6. The height is adjustable, the width is not. Too bad, that would be extra wonderful.7. It comes with everything you need, but I wished I hadn’t lost my socket wrench.8. No little spikes to avoid or to tear your fabric.9. The price seems fair, based on quality, great design and comparison to other frames you can buy.Improvements on my wishlist:1. Include more pieces for flexibility in dimensions. Like a great big Lego set.2. Include an extra cross beam for the base. That’s about it. I will probably use this one instead of my smaller one.

I purchase this gift for my daughter. The product was easy to assemble and she absolutely loves it. This is an upgrade from her previous tuft kit. I highly recommend!

This frame took me some time to assemble and was a bit awkward with the brackets and bolts/screws. It included a small wrench, but that is what makes assembly difficult and tedious. It is difficult to screw the bolts due to the positioning next to the bracket and having to ensure the screw it twisted properly so that it doesn't come back out. After assembly, it looks sturdy and durable. Per the manual, it includes 100 cloth holders. I have not used this frame yet to test its ability/quality while tufting my rugs. It is a good value based on the adjustable height, aluminum/metal structure, light weight/easy to move/lift and not having the carpenter nails scratching me while tufting. I will update my review based on results while tufting.

I love it! Wish they came in bigger sizes! The directions were a little hard to follow, but after a few minutes figured it out.

This frame has not been ideal to say the least the screw system is terrible, it does NOT keep your monks cloth tight no matter how many you put in. Several fly out as you tufting and the cloth is NEVER tight. The screws wind up ripping your fabric and if you don’t have a good grip or hand strength you will not be able to get them in the groove. I ended up using pliers to put them in while I was trying to stretch it. Terrible design! And no matter how tight you put the screws in the joints of the metal it still comes loose so with the pressure of my tufting gun, the whole frame squeaks back and forth and doesn’t have much sturdiness. I will probably have to add two more braces on the back of the legs for stability and I’m going to try putting a tack strip in the grooves so I won’t have to use the PLASTIC screws and pliers. So unless you are prepared to do major modifying on this frame or have great hand strength don’t waste your money on it. It costs less than 65 dollars to make a custom size frame at Lowe’s by the way.

Updated review….Seems a really high quality of materials, all parts are included, clear reference instructions. BUT Been trying for literally two days to put together and can’t seem to get anything to connect. Watched videos, have all parts, can’t seem to figure it out. Shouldn’t need a masters degree in mechanical engineering to put what looks like a rather simple frame together. Last day of trying before giving up entirely. Would notRecommend for anyone with less than general contractor level skills or above. Update…finally got put together..well constructed but assembly was difficult..3 stars

This frame is awesome. And it’s not limited to just rug tufting making. You can do embroidery even painting on a tapestry. The quality is amazing. My husband put it together. 123. Easy to move. Not too heavy. I can’t see enough good things about this frame. So this New York girl totally approves. If you have doubts go for it, you’re gonna love it.!
