Your cart is empty.The 1/4 inch Consumer Pyro Poke brass fireworks safety awl is used to make a hole in a firework lift charge so that a shrouded (plastic cover) ematch or Firewire Initiator can be inserted into the lift charge. This awl is made from Aluminum Bronze and has a 3.5 inch nonsparking shaft with a sharp tip. The orange and black rubber handle fits in the palm of your hand better than other awls and feels comfortable to use. Aluminum bronze tools are high quality, non sparking, non magnetic, and corrosion resistant.

This tool is exactly what you need to safely bore out firework with no chance of spark since it’s made of brass. Quality is good and tip is sharp allowing easy boring into the firework tube

The awl works fine on tubes 1.25" and above; however, trying to bore a hole large enough for an initiator and its plastic sheathing in anything smaller is a little risky. I had a couple of cakes with fuses leading to 1" tubes, and I had to be very careful not penetrate the opposite side of the tube, which would have caused a powder leak. On the positive side, I like the gummy rubber handle much better than the wooden ball handles I've seen. I feel like there's more control with this one.

I like the size it's perfect. Will be used to make new holes in fireworks for attaching electric firing system equipment. Very sharp point for the tip.

A MUST for any pyro enthusiast arrived within a week of ordering which I was surprised about as it came from the US and I'm in the UK if your going to be poking your fireworks you need one of these made of brass so you don't get any unwanted sparks the rubber handle makes it very comfortable and sturdy to work with great little bit of kit 5*
