As a 62 year old beginner violinist I highly recommend this finger guide. It's very easy to apply and I like that it's non adhesive and held in place by a piece of tape (not included) on the back of the kneck. Because no violin is exactly the same, I don't mind that not every single marked finger placement is the exact position for being exactly in tune when tested with my tuner, for the most part it's correct and where it's not I have made note of it and learned to place my fingers correctly. Overall a great guide for beginners and I highly recommend it

I like that this doesn’t stick to the fingerboard but stays on well. I’m a beginner, so this is helpful. I did notice that 3rd finger on each string seems slightly off. But by slightly I mean barely. Almost not noticeable. I even second guessed myself because I’m a new learner. But I very meticulously placed the finger where it was marked and even my tuner said it was slightly sharp. But because it’s so close, I still find it helpful for a beginner like me to get muscle memory because you still know general placement. It’s better than having nothing and having to keep adjusting until you find the note, lol. It’s really helped me with E on the D string as I tend to not bring that finger as far back as I need to. Recommend for new learner!

Well it’s a good price and it’s pretty decent. I’m still quite new to playing so I still need help hitting the right locations. The material is thick and it’s very nice that it has no adhesive! It just sticks to itself via static cling and therefore can be removed or adjusted if necessary. Speak of which, getting your violin tuned properly and THEN getting the finger locations correct and getting this located can be a bit tedious without experienced assistance.

I am a brand new violin player. This helped so much with finger placement. It is easy to use and doesn't stick to the violin! Great purchase!

I wanted to get something for my best friend's kid who is just starting to learn how to play violin!First I was just looking for something that could make him more enjoyable to learn and get used to the instrument itself. Something colorful, exciting, but also helpful. Temitton's finger guide was a perfect gift that caught my eye instantly! I shared my friend the instruction video on how to install and they told me it was super easy, and most importantly, they were so happy that it's not going to leave any residue when it's time to remove! Can't wait to hear him play!

We recently got a new full size violin and my son is still learning so we wanted to put finger tape to mark the proper finger positions. I saw this and thought it was a nice alternative to putting actual tape on the instrument. Overall it is a nice product. It fits the violin well was easy to install but just does not work for us. We both don't like the feel of the plastic that wraps completely around the neck and the additional lines that are marked are confusing to my son. He has been learning with only the basic finger positions being indicated for each of the four fingers. From that he knows when to play flat or sharp notes and how to finger those. If this was how the fingering was presented to him from the start I think this would work much better for him. We also don't like the lack of tactile response as the plastic is flat and does not provide a slight bump you can feel to line up your fingers with out looking.Don't get me wrong this is a nice and accurate finger guide it just did not work for us.

I have been playing for over 2 years. I quickly realized that playing the violin requires precise location of your fingers to achieve the notes. I know where my fingers should go on each string to achieve the notes I want to play with a couple of exceptions. I thought this guide would help me fill in the blanks. If you follow the instructions carefully it installs easily and securely. I have done it 2x and I like that I can add and remove the guide easily and repeatedly. For a beginner learning where things are at this guide is perfect. It's better than the tape I learned with. It attaches securely and is highly visible while playing. I experienced no peeling after attached. What I didn't like was that it was more of a distraction than a help. I have a sight picture of where my fingers go on the finger board and this guide totally disrupted that sight picture. I would attempt to land where the guide told me to for each note. I spent more concentration on landing my fingers on the guide than just playing how I already knew to play. Each violin is different and I found the guide notes were just slightly off the location of the actual note on each string. I am talking just a fraction off. But on the violin, that fraction makes a difference.I am giving this guide 5 stars for a BEGINNER. I think it would be a wonderful help to those just getting started. If you've already learned the note locations and what they should sound like, you might find this more of a distraction than an aid.

I wanted a visual aid in finger placement on my 4/4 violin. At first, I was quite happy but I noticed within weeks after installing that the plastic had slipped down by 1/8 inch, which resulted in the notes becoming sharp as I played. I reinstalled the guide, but again, in about a week, the guide had slipped down again. The plastic also became wrinkled, eventually deadening the G string. Do not buy.
