I wish I bought one of these a long time ago! I work from home and like to get out into coffee shops and other places every now and then just to get out of the house. The problem is that if I'm sitting for a long time in a public place I'll eventually need to get up to go to the restroom or do other things. With this lock I can loop through a fixed table leg (or other furniture/fixture), loop through my backpack and lock off to the computer. This at least makes it difficult even for a brazen thief to attempt to quickly grab my stuff in a public place while I get up momentarily. This gives me a little more piece of mind so I can more comfortably get out of the house to work and for longer periods of time.As for the quality of the product itself, I haven't used other notebook locks so I don't have much to compare to. However, I haven't had any troubles and I couldn't expect this thing to do more or work better. I read some reviews about difficulty setting a new code, but I found this to be pretty easy (just read the instructions, but it's pretty intuitive... set old combo [0-0-0-0 is factory set], push/turn screw on end to vertical position, set new combo, return screw to original position). The red color makes it harder to accidentally leave it somewhere. I use a small velcro strap to keep it in a loop when it's packed in my bag. I've used it it with two different types of computers so far (one is an Asus and the other an HP) and it worked perfectly.

Like the red color, ease of resetting combination, and apparent sturdiness. However, does not seem to fit my HP EliteBook 845 G8 Notebook/Laptop, so I’m still searching.

I lose keys faster than forget combinations so a combination version is important to me. As with all similar products, regardless of their cost, this product is well priced and does exactly what it is supposed to - deter spontaneous theft [note: no matter how much you spend, no security cable will stop theft if someone is determined and prepared to steal your laptop regardless of how 'thick' the cable is - ask any bicycle owner in any major city!]. The four (4) digit combination lock (so far) works well and reliably. I've read some people had issues with failing tumblers. I use a combination padlock at the loop end for anchor to mitigate this should it happen to me - should the lock's tumbler fail at least I can release the cable from the anchor at the loop end and take my laptop with me, cable and all. In the end, the Sendt is low cost, reasonably sturdy and reliable. Though obvious here's one note of usage caution, when disconnecting the cable from your device, give the tumblers a quick 'random' spin otherwise you're exposing the combination to curious passers-by when left disconnected and unattended.

Feels solid. Functions.Note: Does NOT fit a 2015 Dell XPS 13 computer, as Dell (in its infinite wisdom) has used a Noble Wedge lock port instead.I bought two of these for my XPS 13 and display for use at college, but I found that despite a few review sites stating the existence of a kensington lock port in the 2015 XPS, the lock port is actually too small. This lock does not fit.Dell sells Noble Wedge locks for the XPS 13 on its website, so that is the necessary design. I ordered a Noble Wedge lock from Amazon, and it works perfectly. This product however, is good. I use my two for increasing the time needed to steal my monitor and 4TB external hard drive. It is extremely easy to set the combination (when it is unlocked) if you have a thin screwdriver, although a small paperclip may suffice. The joint where the cable attaches to the lock assembly is surprisingly flexible; it is not cumbersome to use.

I received the device. I unpacked it and was reading the instructions on how it worked. I happened to place it in the laptop just to see if and how it worked. Next thing I know it snapped shut and it was locked on my laptop. I never changed the initial 0000 code or adjusted the screw to change it. I tried multiple times and can't get it unlocked now. I don't know the new pass code if it is not 0000, because I never set it to a new combination. So the only thing I know to do is use a hack saw to cut it off between the computer and the lock. Does anyone have any advice to do next. This was a complete waste of money. A combination lock that you can only set the code one time is a joke as well. The title of the combination lock should be: "Use this one-time only combination lock on your laptop.....so you can never get the lock back open again."

This is a really great value for these security cables. I was impressed with the build quality and ease of use. The cable can rotate freely where it attaches to the locking mechanism, so it's easy to put on and take off of any device. I bought several of these to take on an extended business trip, and used them on a laptop, monitor, and Xbox One. Once it was attached to the device it held on really well and did not feel loose in the security port on any of the devices.

Easy to use and attach to laptop. The quality of the product is very good, though I'm a bit concerned that it's not as heavy duty as I was hoping. Still, a good quality product and a good value.
