Some people say the wicks don’t light but I always soak mine for about 5 minutes and they light up no problem, every bottle opening is different, sometimes it’s too tight, some times too loose. If it’s too lose I just do a wrap or two with electrical tape. Too loose I ditch the o rings and use a little tape.

Conceptually this item is good. Reality is that the item is unsafe, unusable and should be removed by Amazon.The “wick†holder is a standard 3/4†PEX coupling that you can buy at any hardware store, which by default is not a secure fit in the neck of any wine bottle or beer bottle.The o-rings used on this item are complete undersized. Therefore, the wick holder fits extremely loose and vapors can and will emit from the neck of the bottle, potentially leading to an unplanned, larger flame, and/or fire.A simple use of proper o-rings would solve this issue. You can buy the correct size at your hardware store…but shouldn’t have to.The PEX fitting/wick holder also has too large internal diameter to securely hold the wicks. The wicks will not “swell†large enough to remain secure. If you buy this kit, you’ll also need to purchase the appropriate size washers at your hardware store to secure the wicks in place.Lastly, the wicks are horrendous. After pre-soaking and soaking overnight, the wicks are extremely difficult to light, produce a 3/4†flame and burnout within seconds.In closing, if you have $31 dollars burning, no pun intended, a hole in your pocket, buy this item.

Had the idea to place these all along the fence in the backyard. It turned out great and fit onto all different size wine bottles. Very easy to assemble.

Love the set up, however we struggle to keep the wick lit. Little frustrating. But love the concept and have made several for home use and gifts.

The topper with rubber rings are not big enough to be snug in any bottle I have tried. I’ve tried nearly 20 different bottles and non fit. The wicks are loose as well and don’t stay in place when pulled up to the height needed to burn properly.

I like the fact that it’s a kit. The couplers fit my wine bottles and the snuffer caps are cute, but the wicks simply do not work. At all. I even tried the dowel rod inside and they just don’t wick up the lamp oil, therefore won’t stay lit. Overpriced for just the parts that worked. Pass on this.

Wick is too small for tubing, so won't be able to pull up when burned.
