I was searching and searching for a legitimate black walnut cracker and this is it. I read the other review about an Amish Farmer wanting 7 more and I was sold. It's early March and I decided I wanted to eat my collection of black walnuts. I tried cracking the 1st nut without soaking, it exploded. I soaked a mug full, tried cracking them after soaking for 20 hours or so and I had success. Just had to keep turning the nut and would stop a pull after applying 15 or so pounds of effort. I sometimes I would get the 1st crack after 15 pulls and sometimes after the 3rd. I let the last 4 walnuts soak another day and it seemed a bit easier to crack 2 day soaked black walnuts. I didn't bother drying them after soaking. Used a mug as a lever support. The resting position with nut in was at 45 degrees and I would move the lever down halfway to the edge of the container, that's what felt good to me. English walnuts were super easy crack.

It worked fine For what it's supposed to do. I was disappointed that there was supposed to be some pics That come with The Nutcracker they were not included in the package but when I ordered them it showed that nut picks were included. And they were not included. Dissapointed

Our Old Order Amish neighbor cracks black walnuts. They are hard to crack, and my neighbors wanted me to order 7 of these crackers for his large family to use with the black walnut grove behind their house. They work OK but you have to rotate them around some.

Cracked my black walnuts with ease... I love my nuts... And this sturdy cracker gets the job done. Now if only it could crack my dating life—turns out finding someone who appreciates good nuts is harder than I thought!

This review is for the Frezonika Nut Crackers with Acrylic Base for All Nuts, Updated Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Nut Cracker for Black Walnuts Pecan Macadamia, Manual Adjustable Jaws Nutcracker Tool (Gold).The Frezonika works no better or worse than other nutcrackers with similar jaws. Worse, the threading on the handle was very poor machining.My application is shelling pecans, and I was unable to get any intact pieces. If the shell cracks everything is smashed. The nutmeats in the product picture are so pretty. Mine are not like that.Not recommended.
