I have two pecan trees and last year, my old nut cracker broke and could not be repaired. This looked similar so I got it to crack all my pecans. It worked well after I figured out how much force to use so that I didn't completely obliterate the pecan. It's easy to adjust the size between pecans. The handle is sturdy and easy to use. The only problem is that the rear holder comes out of the track and is a little difficult to get back in place. I tried to remember not to let the handle fall back after cracking the pecan because that's when the rear holder would come out. It works, but my old one had that piece made in so that it couldn't come out. I wish this one did as well.

Takes a few tries to get the hang of the amount of pressure to apply and how to adjust for different size nuts, but after that, cracks nuts easily and the nut comes almost always in nice halves.

I had one similar yrs ago. It was my grandmother's & of course was made a lot sturdier. This one is close but I've only been using it a few weeks. The base is small. I'm going to mount it on a bigger piece of wood just to keep it a little more steady. I'm thinking a heavy duty glue will work. Be aware the shells fly if you push too hard I just kinda shield it with my hand. Also with a little practice you can get whole halves cracking English walnuts. Do NOT try to crack black walnuts it will break it for sure. You need a sledge hammer for those. I would recommend this cracker.

It is smaller than I expected but works on soft shell nuts. Pecans ok. Others not sure

Although this item looked pretty rugged, it's not for really tough nuts like black walnuts. It worked okay for the first 5 or 6 and then the handle snapped off at the threaded end. I'm happy to be an Amazon Prime member and can easily return it.Something that made me cringe - there is a saying on the box, "with god all things are possible". the company might want to rethink their marketing strategy. Maybe post a warning that the product is not made for black walnuts...just a thought.

Finally! This nutcracker does a great job of cracking walnuts,Brazil nuts, hazel nuts,pecans and almonds...not any trouble to move the piece to fit the size of each nut. The old fashion nutcracker is for the garbage!! This one is the real deal....highly recommend this one...
