My last meat slice lasted a year. It sliced fairly well when meat was cold. It had too many open holes on the top of the motor cabinet, when was amost impossible to wash off the machine without at least some water making its way into the case when finished cutting. Adjusting the meat thickness was difficult. It had the virtue of being cheap.This Nutrichef has been in use for three months now. It's a better slicer in every way. It slices better, it adjusts for thickness better, the entire case surface is sealed off to prevent water from entering. I'm totally happy with the purchase.

While it might not cut rock hard meat (someone reviewed), it works perfectly for my sour dough bread. It isn’t a strong or fast cutting machine, but for the price it works great!

OK value for the price but if doing alot of slicing is not sturdy enough or built heavy enough to slice alot of meat quickly.If only occasional use is fine..It slices about as fast as I can with a knife but alot safer and thiner.. Easy to take apart and clean.so far 150# meat and blade still sharp

This slicer has made food preparation much easier and more efficient. It is a versatile kitchen appliance - it can precisely slice meats, deli items, and even bread. It has an adjustable dial so that I can choose my own thickness ranging from 0-15mm. I like this feature as I like different thickness for different food - when making deli sandwiches I like a thinner slice of meat while I prefer thicker slices for my roast and steak. The removable blade makes cleaning and maintenance easy. I like that I can even cut my homemade bread with this! One of my favorite things to prepare for guests a charcuterie board - this slicer allows me to cut all the product for a great looking board. It is efficient, durable and easy to use.

This slicer is amazing and works really well BUT.I gave this only a 3 star for two reasons. The first is that the thickness lever doesn’t lock so if you put too much pressure on the back plate, it will become thicker as you cut and it’s a slight pain to hold the thickness lever and cut at the same time. Secondly it’s nearly impossible to clean and sanitize. I cut bread first - easy to clean, just some crumbs to sweep off. I cut meat second to make jerky and realized it barely comes apart… The only removable piece is the blade so I had to use bleach on the entire unit in fear of cross contamination later :/Suction is great and it doesn’t slide.Design is nice and compact for storage.

it's made very dinky and does not hold the thickness. there's no locking mechanism so the thickness changes as you're cutting which is very inconvenient. it's very cheaply made and doesn't seem safeUPDATEI figured I could use it to cut veggies for freezing anyway since I am outside the return window. Last night I was cutting zucchini and after 3 of the the motor started smelling like it was burning up and the blade barely moved and it stopped cutting as the blade was already dull so it was just destroying the SOFT squash. I ended up cutting the rest of them about 20 by hand.This thing is a piece of junk and is a hazard as it may catch on fire and not worth the $60 they are charging. If the company or amazon does not refund me I will make a video

Decent slicer, cuts cheeses and breads easily. Sometimes certain meats are hard to slice thinly, but overall does a good job.
