Product Description

xlca2

Compared to a basic line-out converter, the preamp output voltage on the XCLA2 is exponentially higher. This higher preamp output will give you multiple benefits such as sending a clearer, less distorted signal to your amplifier. Also, you will be much less likely to amplify unwanted noise and you can set the gain on your amplifier much lower due to the higher quality signal coming through the RCAs.

With typical factory head units installed you will hear a noticeable drop off in bass at higher volumes. This is done to protect your factory woofers from being blown; however, this bass roll-off will become even more prevalent when using the factory head unit with aftermarket amplifiers and woofers. With the xBoost technology from the XCLA2. you will be able to put that lost signal back.

  • XBOOST Technology
  • High Voltage 9.5 Volt Preamp Outputs
  • 2 speaker-level inputs
  • Remote Bass Level Control (Included) Signal Sensing 12-Volt Trigger

clear sound

NVX digital bass enhancers are designed and engineered to reproduce extreme bass output in your vehicle! The NVX XLCA2 accepts speaker-level signals of up to 400 Watts RMS per channel from the factory head unit or amplifier.

xboost

With the xBoost technology from the XCLA2, you will no longer have to deal with a loss of signal when using a factory head unit. So you will no longer have to worry about any type of drop off in bass quality

12v

The NVX XLCA2 uses signal-sensing turn-on technology. This actually will take the signal coming in, see it, and actually give you a remote output to turn on your amplifier. This also helps prevent turn and off on pops that you may experience with a basic LOC.

bass

The XLCA2 converts speaker-level signals to high-quality pre-amp signals that can then be directed to after-market processors and/or amplifiers. Enjoy maximum sound quality while retaining the use of factory volume and steering wheel controls.

I highly recommend this product. It’s very easy to install—I connected it to one channel on my stock radio, and it works perfectly. While it doesn’t come with cables, I suggest purchasing a 2-amp ANL fuse power cable. It also doesn’t even require a remote wire, as it powers on with the radio. A great feature is the included controller. This device is excellent for restoring bass in your music, functioning similarly to the Epicenter Micro at a cheaper price.

I have a 2018 mustang convertible with the premium audio system. It has a decent sound but no bass can be heard with the top down. I added a couple NVX 12” subs and a 2,000 watt rms amp to try remedy the problem. I installed it all with a cheaper LOC. I thought they were all created equal but I could not optimize the sound without distortion, which subsequently fried a sub. I did some research found that I needed a quality LOC. I was gonna buy the LC2i but stumbled across this which had the same specs, and I love matching brands when possible. I wired it in and followed the suggestions for tuning, and I am very pleased with the sound.

As part of a basic but complete sub-woofer addition to a sound system in a 2014 Tacoma I wanted to get the most out of the stock radio. Comparing this IOC to products from the more expensive makers I decided that the same results could be had for considerably less money. I have no real complaints with the product itself or even the installation. It is the setup instructions that are lacking. I have not been able to find credible guidance on how to set this thing up to effectively replace the bass rolled off by the stock head unit. But, until I do - It does its basic job of providing a good low level signal to my amp and provides a convenient remote turn on signal as well. So, overall I would say it should be a good buy, but that depends upon how much of my bass I can recover. Stay tuned

Installed an NVX XBBR2 to battle the bass roll-off from the stock Bose system in my '17 Cadillac CTS. I initially installed an NVX VAC10001 amp to power a Kicker TRTP 12. Amp was descent but the roll-off was very noticeable, at least it was to me. The XBBR2 had good reviews and not bad price so I decided this was my choice.Installation was pretty straight forward, had the XBBR2 replace an installed LOC (Line Out Converter). Once battery was reconnected, XBBR2 and amp powered on correctly. While tuning the XBBR2, the 3 fuses in the amp blew. I disconnected the battery and replaced the fuses, double checked the wiring - which was good - and continued to reconnect the battery. The amp popped a couple of times but the power to both the amp and the XBBr2 remained on. Both power lights remained on. To be on the safe side I reconnected the battery again and checked the fuses in the amp. The fuses were not blown, still good so I reconnected the battery and continued. Began tuning the XBBR2 again: tuned the gain to below clipping. Went to set the gain on the amp to match gain and the amp would not make any adjustments. While inspecting the amp I noticed light whisp of smoke and a faint odor. The NVX amp was descent (R.I.P.) but seemed to be pretty sensitive when adjusting at the unit. The XBBr2 didn't act compatible with its sister equipment. I've never had this happen so wasn't sure about it. The next day I attempted to contact NVX support directly through their web site. I was told that tech support was not available by phone and required an email and to wait for them to contact me. Not a good business practice. Would not recommend after this experience.

This is a better option than the super cheap Line output converters. It works well and allows much better control.

Compared to the LC2i Pro, this product comes at nearly half of the price! So here's the pros and cons with this option.PROS:- The bass roll off feature works pretty great! It takes a minute to dial it in just right, but once you do, the converter continues boosting your SUB signal through your whole volume range, making your sub sound consistent at 10% volume all the way to 100%.- Included bass knob, with options for double sided tape and screw mount bracket.- The quick disconnects make upgrades, reorganization and replacements very easy and convenient.CONS:- The bass roll off feature is based on the output of mids/highs. It detects that the volume keeps climbing and makes sure that the bass follows. Only problem is that the algorithm used for this takes a second to kick in.[For example]:Volume is at 15, bass is at 15.Volume is now at 30, stays at 15 for a 2-3 seconds, and then climbs (delay).(Or vice versa)Volume is at 30, bass is at 30.(You turn down the radio to talk to someone).Volume is now 10, but the bass remains at 30 for a few seconds before also matching the radio to 10.(Perhaps this is an issue that more premium products could improve on).- The super special telephone cable broke (An uncommon variant because both ends are NOT the same, making it hard to find a replacement). This cable is used to connect the bass knob. I had to contact the seller. The seller declined to just send me a replacement and I had to get in contact with the manufacturer. Still waiting for a resolution.- This is my second unit. The first one, went up in smoke due to a defect. They replaced it free of charge, but still...In other words, consider the cons before you buy because those extra dollars can result in a more pleasant, and reliable product.I'm already working on purchasing the competitors offering.
