I purchased this clamp because the spring clamps I used did not pull the joints tight enough. So far I've used the clamp on test cuts only, mimicking door/window casing. It works well, pulling the miter tight along the entire joint. I used minimal amounts of glue and no reinforcing, such as biscuits. The joint was very strong. A very minor amount of finessing is needed to make the miter joint perfect and the small dimples the clamp makes are a small tradeoff for the strength this clamp provides. The original Chesnut Tool Clam Clamp made in the USA was unavailable and backlogged, so I went with this one. I can't speak to durability over the long haul, but the clamp appears to be well made is a good value. I recommend it.

I'm putting together a frame for a pet barrier on our porch. I am gluing mitered soft wood boards 3 1/2" wide so most of the clamps I see on Amazon will not work due to the width. Most corner clamps are designed for narrower boards. This gadget worked very well for what I needed and it does seem to be built to last. It does leave tiny indentations where the pins penetrate the wood to hold it but I'm using rough unfinished boards so that isn't an issue. Anyone using finely sanded and finished boards will need to fill the punctures. I think this is a very clever and useful device. The only drawback...and it is a big one...is the price. I guess since it is a somewhat unique item it isn't mass produced enough to come down in price.

These are the first affordable clamps I’ve seen that really do work. I was hesitant at first because they are not inexpensive but after using two of them I found them to be amazingly accurate. I used Titebond glue and biscuits in the joints for strength and was careful to keep everything aligned and flush as I tightened the clamp. I ended up with exceptional joints both tight and strong.I am purchasing two more so that I will have 4 in order to picture frame small windows.

This clamp is top quality and works extremely well. Highly recommend for framing work like architraves etc. It is bigger and sturdier than I expected, may not be suitable for more intricate work like small picture frames.

Bought two different brands at comparable prices off Amazon. Oskool significantly better made. Overall more heavy duty on almost all if not all components. Oskool cam system moves grab arm approximately 30% farther. Oskool grab screws have been machined to a sharpened edge facilitating much easier fastening with no slippage. See attached pictures. Had to tap other brand with mallet to get the screws to bite and even then experienced slippage.

I just got the clamps today and i quickly tried on a miter joint. As i had anticipated, the joint was tight everywhere and nice and flush. It did leave dimples (as expected) that i will have to fill-in but that’s no problem. They look sturdy and i figure they will be durable. It was a worthy purchase.
