Do not use an impact gun with this tool. Heat the nut up and mount the hub in a vise, and use a breaker bar to break the nut free. Others use an impact gun, but in this case, you need to work harder, not smarter. I broke the nut free using the method I described, but it takes a lot of force.

Do your due diligence and get a tool that does not have spring pins for the important part of the tool that you can get at your local parts store. Look for one that is robust enough to torque your bearings back as well. This tool fit that need.

Cheap made, the pins are loose, it can't stay in place, you cant use this to tight the nut, do not waste your money with this tool. It got broken after doing 1 car, and I only could tight one tire, for the other side it was broken, only 1 time used and it is broken near the pins.

This tool gets the job done. However!! Keep in mind before purchasing that the pins are NOT welded onto the socket. The pins are pressed In and they most likely WILL come off while using it due to vibrations. That is what happened to me, the pins constantly kept falling off while trying to loosen and install the nut. I had to keep putting them back in. I even tried putting them backward to see if they fit more snug but they kept coming off. Again, this gets the job done, which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 1, but it’s by no means a quality professional tool. If you are a DIY guy that needs to change the bearings on your own truck and probably will only use it once, then go for it but keep in mind the pin issue which can be annoying. If you are a professional tech, definitely stay away from this tool, get yourself something better.

Got this barely one day after I purchased an OTC 7921 version which was sold by O'Reilly's. Can't resist the temptation to compare so I did. From a head to head stand point, this tool had more poise than the OTC. But in fairness to the more expensive OTC tool, I decided to put both to the test. Findings: this relatively cheaper tool outclassed and out powered the more costly OTC. I both abused it while trying to really tighten my OEM adjusting lock nut for the wheel bearings on my '07 Tacoma Pre Runner. I used both in combination with an extension bar, a long ratcheting wrench and sledge hammer as I locked the hub and bearing with 2 large clamps on a table. Even the table could not sustain the battle of strengths so I finished on the floor with these items still clamped. This tool had unbelievable grip and tightening power. In the end, the lock was placed where it rightfully belong: bottom of the hub, reinforced with Loctite to dispell doubts of it ever coming out, after I staked the nut. I picked this over the OTC because at the back of my mind, when using the OTC, I didn't feel any secure, its 4 prongs looked weak that it would fall off on the first turn and I am a seasoned DIYer. With this tool, I was able to turn the nut 360 degrees in one turn and believe me it was not easy. I took more than 4 hours trying to lock the nut because I had to file the threads from an accidental damage to repair and clean those hub threads. I felt a great surge accomplishment knowing that the nut will stay for as long as it takes, thanks to this great tool.

It's a good, well made tool. Probably won't use it much but I'm glad to have it in my box.
