EMPI 00-5002-0 is an oil pump puller designed to be compatible with VW air-cooled engines, including dune buggies and other vehicles.

Don't even attempt to start pulling it out without this. Don't get in hurry and wait to order until it's too late. Product is fine quality and gets the job done.

pulled the oil pump from a Type IV, out of a 914. This pulled the pump with very little stress, and I didn’t have to pry against the case.

I had to grind the t bar down to make it fit. Other than that it did the job as described.

This tool functioned as it was supposed to. I did not experience a failure as some of the reviews state. Use it correctly and it will work fine.

There is rust in that weld. This is second time use in less than a year and it snapped then cracked my oil pump. Project is on hold now. This was not part of the budget

Downside: Does not fit oil pump with filter Good: It’s ver sturdy and stronger than most. Use on standard pumps only. Not on pumps with filter or bypass to cooler.
