I'm honestly questioning my sanity for not having bought one of these sooner. I do a lot of paper piecing quilting. Mostly 10" square or smaller stuff. I also live in a 400sq foot tiny home. So quilting is already challenging. Having the space to do quilting is kinda an insane challenge. Setting up a cutting table to run around without having to reset my fabric and rulers all the time is just flat impossible. Enter this Olfa rotating cutting mat. It's made my quilting life so much easier. It rotates easily but not too easily. It's texture holds the fabric steady while you're rotating the mat and/or rulers around. There is no bump in the middle when you're cutting across the center of the mat. My cuts disappear as fast as I make them. Mat care is simple. Don't store it where heat or cold could warp the mat. Store it in the "closed" position. Yes it has a plexiglass backing to help it be stable but why tempt fate? These things aren't cheap. When I think of all the headaches this mat could have saved me if I'd only bought it sooner. Ugh. It's an outstanding product. I highly recommend it.

I wish I had this decades ago! It's so useful, I use it all the time. The mat is holding up just fine after using for the last year and half. The turning of the mat is smooth and easy.

I am working on a quilt using 10" squares, cut on the diagonals. The diagonals are easy to cut with a 12" rotating mat, but when you sew those diagonals together, the block is larger. I needed this 17" mat because I cannot move around my project easily. This larger rotating mat is perfect! Every cut is easy to make, and the top of the mat is VERY stable. I am very confident that this mat will be in use for a long, long time- as are my other Olfa mats!

Love that I can stand in place while rotating the mat. This mat solves the problem of having a cutting table against the wall. Works great!

When I purchased my rotating Mat I was a little hesitant because of the price.I was a little disappointed that the back of theMat has this scratches one of them is a little deep hopefully it will not affect it later on andstart falling apart.Other than that looking forward to use it :)

When I started quilting, I didn't have one of these mats and looking back, I wonder how I managed without it. I especially like it because rotating the mat rather than the fabric & template eliminates the need to realign and true up edges that have already been cut. The first time I used it, I made a crumb quilt (which was intended to be a wonky log cabin!). I really got off track with what I was doing but in the end, I was very happy with the outcome. I was having so much trouble cutting the blocks that I ordered the rotating mat and it solved all of my problems. I don't use it all the time but when I need it, I'm happy to have it! I thought it was a bit on the pricey side, especially in light of the fact that the top mat easily separates from the rotating disk when being moved but it's easy enough to put back together. I would definitely recommend quilters have one of these.

I have developed arthritis in my hands and wrists as I have aged, but I'm not ready to give up quilting and garment sewing. This makes it possible for me to cut out circles or any other curve without aches and pains!Just turn the mat instead of your wrist!

This is great for squaring up large blocks. It is quite large so it requires a good bit of of space to turn. I only have a small workspace, so I am happy to also have a smaller rotating mat, which I find more convenient for smaller blocks. I am very happy with this purchase for larger blocks, however.. It rotates smoothly and works very well. An excellent purchase and highly recommended.
