I'm using this to attach a cell phone adapter to a boom microphone tripod. That means this adapter is horizontal and most of the mass is about 4 inches from the ball joint part of this adapter, creating quite a bit of torque on that lock screw. It has held for weeks without even minor slipping. However, if I create rotational torque by turning the phone adapter to one side, the entire adapter will rotate where it's screwed onto the mike stand if you don't use thread locking compound or Teflon tape, even with the mic's star locking ring. Where it threads onto the mic stand is not inherently self-locking (like with a set screw or nylon thread inserts). I used thread locking compound, and now the mic stand's boom turns before this thing does. It'd be interesting to see if I can even get it off.Keeping the mic stand itself from tipping over because of all the weight that far out, on the other hand, took an entirely different set of products. But this adapter functions extremely well. The ball lock resists all motion very, very well. Where it threads onto the mic stand does not resist rotational torque in the loosening direction, even with the mic stand's star shaped locking ring down tight, without thread locking compound or teflon tape. I have no doubt that it can easily handle the weight and will be purchasing more for other projects. It's cheap, effective, and adaptable. For the manufacturer: a thread setscrew or nylon thread inserts would be a welcome addition to this product so that it's capable of resisting rotational torque where it attaches to the microphone stand.

Initially I was going to purchase a totally whole new stand to mount my Panasonic VDR-M70 Camcorder and Panasonic LX5 digital camera. But then I thought about it for a few minutes that my On-Stage MS9701TB microphone stand has threads on it so I could possibly mount my camcorder and LX5 on it. I took a look at the threads and it was impossible to mount it because the threads were too large. So I was thinking someone must have at least had the genius idea of creating a mount adapter for mounting digital camcorders and digital cameras. I went searching and then I found the CM01 On-Stage Adapter.Unlike the other reviewers I did not have any flaking or burrs in the u-cutouts. My product I received did not look anything like the stock picture. It is possible that the manufacturer's workmanship quality has been improved or changed. But I did not experience any defects like other reviewers did. Using this adapter with an On-Stage MS9701TB stand you can practically shoot at plenty of angles and height adjusting the adapter and the microphone stand. Pretty much think of half a sphere that's how much movement/rotation you will get. The 180 tilts (u-cutouts) are useful for shooting 16:9 shots in portrait insead of landscape.I did not have anything heavier than 1 lb to mount so I couldn't test beyond that weight but I'm sure it could handle 6 lbs if I had a DSLR camera weighing that much. I feel that the costs of about $7.00 for this adapter is well worth it instead of spending about $40.00 for an extra stand that can be only used for camcorders and digital cameras to only use more storage space in the home.In conclusion, this is a great little device and I'm glad someone made it. Otherwise I might have ended up with some flimsy tripod stand designed specifically for camcorders and digital cameras.--PRO's--Worked as advertisedCan hold up to 6lbs (not real world tested)Saved about $40 (if you already own a mic stand)Allows for 360 degree tilt/pan & 180 degree tilt (and a lot more angles if you own On-Stage MS9701TB stand)--CON's--None

I bought this adapter to attached to the Amazon Basic Boom I had purchased so I could control the angle of the camera when doing an overhead shot. I found that when I used the boom, it would sag a little so I could not get a 90-degree angle for the overhead shot, this adapter fixed that by letting me adjust the angle due to the sag in the boom.It is well made and can easily support my Canon SL2 with lens which weighs about 25 oz total.I would buy another one of theses if I needed 2.Pros:Well made. Can handle the weight of at least 25 oz.Cons:Nothing stands out to change for this item.

This little piece of metal is so great if you are primarily filming live music in small clubs where mic stands are always available. It does take a moment to get used to, because the ball joint will not catch to be tightened if it is not in the top of the mechanism, so before you put it on the stand it is good to turn it upside-down to be tightened, before you attach your camera. However, if you did already attach your camera, you can merely pull it upward while tightening. For some odd reason the ball joint settles just below the tightening bolt. However, this is very sturdy, affordable, and saves the trouble of toting bulky tripods. If you have this and a Zoom HDQ3, then you have a powerful camcorder set-up that is small enough to fit in your guitar case.Edit to my original review:While I still fully stand-by my stance that my purchase was not a regret, the issue with the ball-joint has caused me to reduce my score by one star, due to how aggravating this can be when you are trying to capture a moment and have to pause, disconnect this adapter, turn it over, tighten it, re-attach it, and hope you didn't miss the part of the performance you wanted. I am sure some kind of simple washer could have fixed this design flaw.

This is perfect for mounting your digital audio recorder or small camera. This screws onto a standard mic stand and lets you position your device where you want it. I have two of these that I use all the time.

If you want to use the Audyssey Microphone with e.g. Pronomic Microphone stand MS-25C Pro. Instead of the supplied cardboard stand

Not much to say about this product; I use it to mount my HD webcam to a boom stand overlooking my keyboard for remote and asynchronous music lessons and it does a fantastic job. It's not too heavy, so the stand is still nice and sturdy. It pretty much allows for full rotation so you can angle it exactly as you need. The screw knob is a great size so it's very easy to attach the cameras. For the $11 (CAD) I paid for it, there's no room for any regret - it's an essential part of my studio setup. I highly recommend this product if you're in need of it.

I purchased the On Stage adapter after needing to return the equivalent "Gator Frameworks" product. This one is of superior design and construction and has not failed. The gimbal lock holds firm with minimal fuss, easily holding the weight of an iPhone when positioned at an angle. Exactly as expected.
