These are a joy in the hand. They are solid, smoothly rounded, and so PERFECTLY balanced it's almost magic. They just FEEL amazing, proving that you don't need extravagant embossing or gaudy gold accents when you're confident of your clean elegance. Someone, somewhere just have truly loved making these.I've bought multiple sets over the years. Never because of wear, but because a piece or two actually get lost (stolen? slipped back into alternate dimensions?). They don't require any great care, but you shouldn't soak them overnight in food-dirty dishwater. Like any metal silverware, no matter the quality, the acid build-up will put micro-pitting in the metal, making them annoyingly sparkly. Unless you like that.

My mother has lost her flatware - sad as she has no idea where it is. We have always (!) purchased Oneida flatware.This is a beautiful set! I was surprised the weight of the item - it feels strong and resilient. The 45 piece set included serving pieces. It washed well in the dishwasher.Absolutely would buy again!!!

I bought this to add to my existing sets because my kids threw a few of the spoons in the trash.... Anyways the newer spoons definitely weigh less than the one I got a few years ago. I put one on the scale against my older one and it's 2 to 3 grams less. That doesn't sound like a lot but you can literally feel the difference when you have one in your hand, especially after having used the other set for 10 years.

This dinnerware set is phenomenal. It's thick but not too thick. It has a very nice feel in your hands and it's nice because the edges are not sharp. They do not rust at all and are very easy to clean. I would recommend this set to everyone.

High quality, heavy duty set. Unfortuantely the little spoon was REALLY little and the edges of the silverware were somewhat sharp. I returned this set.

I've owned an Icarus set for nearly 20 years and loved the weight, size and feel of the whole set. I lost a fork (or so I thought..... and my OCD kicks in when I lose an item from a set). My boy has just bought his first house, so thought I'll buy this and replenish my missing items and give him a set.The sets are different -these are larger items (obvs not a problem if you don't know the original), pattern less prominent. Decent weight and feel, liked the extra serving set.The missing fork reappeared two weeks later, when my boy found it in his kit bag after a bbq at the beach. He's so lucky he's buying a house, or he'd have been on the street!! (I do love him, but his house warming gift is more utilitarian (and smaller) than he thought! If he learns nothing else, he will learn to count his forks!!

I've revised my review down to one star. I totally regret buying this product. The haven't worn well, even with the limited use they've had. Very poor product.I've owned the previous generation of Icarus since 2008 so wanted some more. I could see there had been a slight redesign from the photos, but this set is significantly chunky and oversized. The knives are OK but the rest are chunky through the handles. It feels like the knives and the forks were designed by different people who didn't talk to each other.
