I have been using my ancient (50+ yrs old!) Sunbeam Clipmaster clippers for the occasional body clipping or trace clip. I was looking at purchasing new battery powered clippers, but was going to have to shell out well over $400 for heavy-duty clippers with 2 battery packs. I just couldn’t justify the cost for the few times I body clip, but was seriously considering until I found these. My old clippers were HEAVY, had a (great) long cord and sound like a B-52 preparing for take off. I don’t expect to start a professional grooming business with these new clippers, but for what I do, they are fan-flippin-tastic! They are lighter in weight, and while loud, they are still noticeably quieter than the Clipmaster’s. I unboxed and charged both packs. They came with a partial charge and wanted to make sure both were ready. I also changed out the 1mm blade (leaves hair too short) that was factory installed with the 3mm blade that was included. This left a 3mm length coat after clipping, the perfect length to grow out any clipper tracks left in time for the Congress in 3 weeks. I did a full body clip in less than half the time and didn’t feel like my arm was going to fall off. The Clipmaster would get hot and I’d have to periodically stop to let them cool off. The clippers never got hot, and I never needed to switch out the battery (it comes with 2 - the thing that sold me on this set). I did follow the manufacturer guidelines of oiling every 10 min or so and frequently cleaned using blade wash. These clippers made a dirty job (almost) fun. They certainly made it 10x easier! I highly recommend if you’re not a professional groom and just do the occasional body clip. I’m certainly not getting rid of my trusty Clipmaster, they’ll still be my back up, but they’ve earned a break. The jury is still out on how well these will hold up, and if I can get replacement blades. I’ll update later.

Just a quick question. Several people have mentioned how quiet the clippers are, but they seem loud to me. I have just put them together. Suggestions?

Easy handling no cord to keep out of the way. Battery ran the whole time that I clipped the horse without losing power! Not too noisy worked really well!

My bulky corded clippers burned out a few weeks ago. Even when they were brand new they were difficult to use so when I saw there was a battery powered option with the same width that I need, I decided to buy two sets. These clippers had plenty of power and the battery life was amazing. I read that they can clip up to 5 horses per charge but mine far exceeded that. I kept them cool and oiled the whole time so maybe that contributed to my success but I easily did 8 horses. I bought two sets in case the battery didn’t hold up but I only had to use one. Unfortunately I later discovered one of my battery chargers didn’t work. I contacted customer service and Sue immediately responded to me and sent me a replacement. The customer service is fantastic! These clippers aren’t cheaply made they are durable and balanced in the hand. There is some weight to them but I don’t think it’s an issue for most people because they are well balanced.

Used them twice now. My horse has "clyde" feet and hair. These clippers work so fast and clip very evenly. Also did a full body clip - did a great job. The chargers work great - cordless is the way to go
