Perfect solution for our crowd mics at church. I was looking to have a pencil condenser and a large diaphragm mic on the same stand. This was the trick!

I already had a setup with a camera desk clamp pole. I need something to fixed my mic. I don’t want to buy another desk clamp pole for the mic, and this works perfect.

I have a crowded rig already and the las thing I wanted was another mic stand. I already have a straight stand with a Shure SH55 mounted on it as a talkback to call tunes to my band members. I wanted to eliminate my wireless sax mic, as I was using it infrequently, and decided to mount a Heil Fin on this extension arm on the same stand as the talkback. Nice and stable - no issues - works perfectly.

I teach guitar lessons and I use the mic holder to record my students when they play the guitar in my studio. Being able to listen back to what they play, helps them to understand what they are doing wrong, and what they are doing RIGHT.! This makes each lesson more productive.. I also use it when I play out in public and use my Acoustic guitar to mic my guitar to the p a system. Which is run through the mixer and balanced to the vocal tracks, giving my gig a more professional look and experience.!

I used these to mount some travel music holders to mic stands to have less clutter on the stage and easier portability. I just unthreaded the large screw for the mic clip, and replaced it with a long screw for mounting the music holder (see my review for the Ravel SSRAVELDESK Desktop Music Stand - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005Q9Z5XW/). It works great!The one thing I find disappointing about the MY550 bar is the tiny pressure point where the clamp screw contacts the mic stand. It is plastic so it shouldn't scratch the stand, but it's less than 1/8" in diameter. I was concerned that it might put a dent in the stand when secured tightly, so I upgraded it. I bought a pack of 7/8" plastic base nail-on furniture glides (the plastic feet for the bottom of wooden furniture) from the hardware store. Since the tip is plastic, I just centered the nail on the tip, and turned the screw until it sunk the nail in all the way. That gives a larger surface area to spread the pressure out, and worked great on my mic stands.

bought 2 of these to expand my recording capabilities. I have a tight space so I can't use a lot of stands and they really helped. I have one order my hiatus and the other under the snare.the screws that the microphone clip screws into is wobbly even when its tightened all the way. other than that the clamp itself is very sturdy and will not move.
