I was expecting something a bit lower quality comparable to an older flimsier stand I bought for about 10USD used from my violin shop. This music stand is of a much better, thicker and sturdier construction, with multiple points of adjustability in both height and tilt. It also features page holders which are useful for novices in keeping a single page open for a prolonged period of time. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least at the higher quality of the stand itself and of the carry bag. I originally purchased this for my dad who had eyed my now inferior stand, but I am REALLY tempted to keep this one especially as it only cost 12 USD! This is a fantastic price given the weightiness of the construction. Considering the low relative price, this was a fantastic find.

This is advertised as a compact traveling music stand and that is exactly what it is. Most of the time I don't need a stand because the venue has them, but once in awhile I need to bring my own and didn't want to spend much money on something I only use once in awhile. Other people have said that it is cheap and flimsy. It is a $15 stand, so I am not sure what they expected. If I try to put several books on it, the top does tilt forward but only so far before it catches on the stem and stops. I also read many reviews that said it was too short. I am a 6'2" male and it works for me. When I use it to sit and play an instrument I don't even need to use the telescope on the center stem. When I am standing I put it all the way up. I would honestly like another 1-2" but it works fine. I don't expect it or even want it to come to eye level. It is high enough for me to be able to catch it with a quick glance. If you are looking for a primary use stand, invest in a stand that is intended for that use. This is a great little occasional use music stand.

This is my second music stand. I need a portable stand to take to my classes. Previously I had a ChromaCast stand that is somewhat cheaper, but has plastic clamps that broke after a few months of regular use. This OnStage stand doesn't fold up as small as the ChromaCast, but it seems sturdier and is working fine so far. If I make sure to push the legs all the way out, it is sturdy enough for my binder with around 30 sheets of music. It won't hold a heavy music book upright. This is not the best music stand on the market, but I'm giving it an extra star because of the cheap price and nice carrying bag. The OnStage bag is much nicer than the ChromaCast bag. Better stands are available of course, but they are not as portable and not as cheap.

This is the second music stand I've purchased in the last year. I tried saving money the first time and bought a cheaper brand but it was very unstable and poorly constructed.. not the case with this one! I find it to be of quality and able to take on moderately heavy loads (multiple books) in less than ideal set ups. I was hesitant at first to buy because of some reviews but I have yet to find any serious negatives about this stand. The holders are great for sheet music, very tight, but can be a problem if your wanted to hold a place in a book.. just get a couple paper clamps problem solved.The extra money was worth it and am getting rid of the first stand. Also the bag included is a nice heavy canvas material and has a handy strap attached. totally worth the extra $3 in my opinion. high quality (for the price people!), great stability, easily transportable, and stylish. Totally recommend this product

I bought this folding music stand my daughter Madison who plays the trombone in jazz and concert bank at school. She has been requesting a music stand and I read the reviews from others and thought I would get this item for her. She opened it on Christmas Day and was thrilled about it. The music stand comes with a bag that you can put it in and carry it around. She plans to get a lot of use of out of it as she often needs to practice at home for her jazz band competitions. I would recommend this music stand. It is a good product and it is sturdy and is easy to open and fold up.

Stand itself looks good, but function is definitely more important and unfortunately this stand is not sturdy enough to hold any notes. Disappointing…will be returning

I already have a two piece stand, which is just fine, but cumbersome to take to guitar class. So, it stays at home and assembled.The two things I like most about this On Stage stand are:1. It's one collapsible piece. No assembly required. Easy to keep together.2. Carry bag. This keeps it from getting caught, scratched, or dinged by other things in the trunk of the car or things I'm carrying in the same hand.Things I also like about this stand are:1. Reasonably light weight.2. Can hold a reasonable amount of music.3. Fold out extensions allow taped-together four sheets of music to be read.Things that don't matter to me:1. The strap on the carry bag. Someone might find it useful. I've never loosened it to a length for going over my shoulder.Improvements I'd like:1. Lighter material, like anodized aluminum. That would make it even easier to carry along with my other stuff.2. Quick release cam collars instead of screws. This would speed up setup and collapsing the stand.
