It was easy to install, and functions. Only time will tell if it rusts out, like the high dollar Warm 10s did… I’ll be back in a year

The winch is very beefy for my little Jeep but I wanted one that looked great, in addition to functionality. The price was right for me to jump to the 13,500lb winch, so I did. It looks fantastic on my rig, but I did change out the red wire cord to a black one (it clashed too much with my orange jeep).Customer Service - One of the remotes didn't work, so I took it apart (5 little screws) and didn't have any of that type of battery on hand, so I had to order some (the other remote worked fine and nothing else was broken). I contacted OpenRoad and they were surprised of the issue but said to let them know if the batteries do the trick and they will refund me. A couple days later, the batteries arrived, I sent them a couple pics and the receipt and they refunded me the cost of the batteries (without me even asking). The responses were FAST and I didn't have to even ask about the refund...this is what I call excellent customer service, so thank you OpenRoad!

I got this winch a few weeks ago and have been very impressed. Right out the gate I like that it came pre-assembled. A lot of the other winches I had been considering had none of the wiring set up which is a massive pain especially if you having a shop install it. I also liked that the control box is mounted on a bracket rather than on the rails it feels a lot more stable here compared to on the rails with the two screws that I have seen used elsewhere. The wireless controller has to be my favorite part! The way I have my winch mounted in my truck plugging in the wired remote is difficult and may be borderline impossible if i get stuck during a river crossing so having the wireless remote as an option is amazing. They also connect pretty much instantly which is nice as i was worried about poor or delayed connections which was definitely a concern when I first got it.I have done some testing with it and thus far it has worked perfectly and fully expect it to work the next time I get stuck in the mud.The added hat and hook flag are a great touch can definitely recommend.

Fits great. Super easy to install. Hint: install on bumper before putting on jeep. Front hole were hard to get to.

Seems like I got ship a returned product. Missing parts and there is something white on it when I opened it. Power cord seems to be to short. Everything seems to work so far.

I've used this 4 time so far to pull stumps out. Larges about 22" diameter. Had to dig a little around that one (using 4 pullies), but no digging for smaller ones. The only problem I've had was finding a solid place to anchor my truck (RAM 1500).

Edit: open road saw this review and contacted me for a replacement winch or parts and with the following information and I hope it helps others who might be experiencing similar issues:Wireless remote power button:They have already worked with their engineers to redesign the power button for the remote. The new design requires a long press of 3 seconds to activate, which should prevent similar problems. If you’re experiencing this issue you can contact OPENROAD4WD and they will ship you a modified wireless remote for free.Rope Thickness Issue:They are saying that the supplied rope is designed and produced to a standard 3/8-inch diameter, with a breaking strength of 18,000 lbs—far exceeding the winch’s 13,000 lbs capacity.Rope mounting options:Open road is saying that the winch drum should have a pre drilled hole on the side of the drum to accommodate ropes with a square tip. This is actually very good because then their drum potentially can accommodate both round tip and a square tip rope. Conclusion:To make things right open road is offering free replacement components or a free replacement winch. Because I see that they are truly trying to make things right based on their feedback I am upgrading my star review.Original review:There are a few critical issues: The wireless remotes that are provided with the winch don’t have a safety. Be careful where you store those remotes because the lightest touch on the power button turns them on. Higher priced brands have remotes that will require holding the power button for a few seconds in order to turn them on. In my case, the remotes were store in a bin and something touched the remote, turn it on and started winching while the hook was still connected to my bumper. Luckily, the quality of the rope is not great so it ripped off before it ripped my bumper. No way to contact support other than email and they never responded to emails.Changing rope was not easy because of the way open road hook up the rope end into the drum. They use a metal sleeve pressed over the tip while most rope providers make ropes with a metal square that has a hole intended to fasten to the drum with a screw. Look for winches that have those and make your life easier when you want to change ropes. Also, comparing my previous winch rope which was rated for 9500lbs to open roads I see that open roads rope is slightly thinner while the winch is rated higher at 13000 lbs. these seems questionable. So While there are rave reviews from well known YouTubers for this winch I would not buy it again as I feel those reviews are marketing ploys.Instead I would look for companies who stand behind their warranties by responding to your emails and customer supper requests.
