Save yourself time and hassle, since the CS1500 starts instantly and doesn’t require any gas-oil mixing. Tool-less tensioning allows you to tension the chain by just tightening the ring on the side cover – no special tools required. Made by the world's leading saw chain manufacturer, this chainsaw features an 18" chain that you can sharpen on the saw in 3 seconds with the pull of a lever. The automatic oiler distributes oil on the bar and chain while on the saw, keeping your chainsaw lubricated and preventing premature wear.

Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric ChainsawI bought this electric chainsaw last month because my gas operated chain saw was acting up and I needed to get rid of some small trees in the yard. I wanted a chainsaw with enough power and long enough chain to cut 8†trees.This chainsaw is good for what I needed done. It was able to cut through the tree and the logs very easily. There is enough power in this saw, and I was not expecting gas chainsaw performance power from this $100+ saw. This saw did not cut as fast as my gas chainsaw, but it did cut "continuously"!The automatic chain oiler works well. The auto sharpener is convenient and easy to use. When you push the sharpener handle, you could see little sparks as the sharpener stone brushes against the chain/links.I used a 100 feet extension cord and there was no power drop.Overall a very good chainsaw for $100 price range. Quality of the parts is good. Sure there is plastic but it is not flimsy.

I have used gas chain saws for years but decided to try this one and it works and works well- some tho't:PROS:1. It is virtually as powerful for its size as a gas chain saw2. Being electric the torque and rpm are instantaneous unlike gas chain saws which have to rev up.3. It is uber safe (relatively) the chain stops instantly when the trigger is released- unlike gas CS.4. It has a self sharpener which seems to work reasonably well.5. It has a safety button to prevent accidentally starting it at the wrong time and a great chain break.6. Unlike battery saws this will cut all day because it is corded.7. At the end of the day you don't smell like you have danced with a 2 stroke motor.CONS:1. It is corded which means this is not for deep woods cutting but rather cutting around the house where an outlet is available and perhaps 100 foot extension. Other than its portability, because it is corded, being electric is a total advantage. This does exactly what I needed it to do..

I don’t often take the time to provide a product review, but in this case it seemed really fitting. The overall reviews were mostly positive, but many of the negative reviews left a decent level of doubt in my mind. Ultimately though, if Amazon was selling 1k a month with over 3k positive reviews, I felt the risks buying this to be rather small. So yeah, I am extremely happy with my purchase so far. I didn’t want to mess around, so I bought their grease and chain oil. The chain oil that comes with it seemed of a lighter quality, which I assume is specifically catered to some break in period.I didn’t see it in the instructions, but per a YouTube video, about greasing the chain. So I greased the bar and did the recommended free run for about three minutes. In the instructions it’s explained that the chain will have a sporadic fit as it expands under heat in the break in period. Yes, this did actually happen. First two hours I had about four chain derailments. (all easily fixable BTW). Wow I was annoyed, thinking I was had! After that though, these chainsaws have been a beast. I have been using these (I say plural because at $97.00 I bought two for less than one Husqvarna) , but yep, check the chain oil, give a bit of grease before each session and just go, go, go. I used one today four about four hours continuous cutting. Not a single hiccup. The trunk I’m sawing is almost as big as the bar.Just leisurely sit back and let it melt through. I am extremely impressed of the quality of product I received versus the price I paid. I don’t usually just buy anything willy nilly, so of course I researched the company some. It turns out, the founder of Oregon invented the modern day chain saw blade and they have been around since the great depression. Certainly at this price it’s most likely manufactured in China, just to say wherever, or whomever is doing it, they are doing it correctly. I’m actually impressed, thank you Amazon.Pros: It immediately starts up each and every time. The blade break is instantaneous. You let go of the trigger, it stops, instantly. No worrying about oil mixtures, or whether it feels like running today. Could it possibly be any cheaper? In comparison to gas, it’s very quite.Cons: It has a cord.

Runs great and cuts awesome! Was amazed how well the saw cuts. I used a 50 foot extension, didn't even slow it down. Son has a Stihl and he couldn't believe how easy the electric saw cut. Sharpener right on the saw. tree came down in a hurry!

If you're just starting out, or if you're over gas and not doing professional logging, I highly recommend this corded chainsaw. I've been bucking down 6 cord of logs. Luckily I had help, but I do believe that in time I could have bucked down the entire load. The 18 inch bar is a good in between, not too small, not too large. The chain is good, and I love me the self sharpening action. I got through about 3 cord of the logs before help and I didn't feel it was anywhere near needing replacement, though I probably would have had to look into a replacement as I got to the larger logs in the end.My particular saw sipped chain oil. I've heard of others who had a problem with leaks and such. Not a problem for me.The one caveat that I have with the chainsaw is that I can't say how good it was with electricity. Not sure what the cost will be and if that made a more economical choice over gas

Excelente!!
