anti-kickback bars have narrower noses and 7 tooth sprockets. The abrupt transition to the sprocket causes bar wear that cannot be ground-out. Pro bars have 9 tooth sprockets and do not suffer this issue, thus last much longer. Care must be taken by novices when cutting near the nose.

Super glad I got this upgraded bar for my Stihl MS171I was looking for something more like a pro grade bar and after a lot of research on what I could make work, I discovered this bar.I also went with a Oregon 91VXL055G 55 drive link long top plate 3/8" low profile chain, which is also an upgraded chain.The saw now cuts like it's going through hot butter.Oregon didn't disappoint on this set up!
