Purchased for myself and as gifts for our crew. No sooner than I had secured it on my key ring, a parent asked me if there was a way to remove an embedded tick from her child. With her permission, I easily removed the entire embedded tick - parent and child were very relieved. Wonderful tool that removes tick gently, intact, without leaving the head under the skin. Several customers have inquired where I found this tick key. I never used to be concerned with ticks much as our winters are very long and cold. The last couple winters have been warmer than usual with plentiful mast and high populations of mice and whitetail deer. We are seeing many more ticks than in the past. This should be standard issue in any Parks & Recreation organization. Will purchase again for co-workers in other departments.* For those who have reservations on the Tick Key's removal of small deer ticks, let me assure you YES this does work on deer ticks, even the very small ones. Stretch the skin tight, center the tick in the middle of the large opening, then slide the Tick Key firmly towards the end of the narrow part of the opening. Keep the tick centered in the middle and as it nears the narrow part, the entire tick should pull out in its entirety. This key works with just about any size tick, although a really tiny tick may require tweezers, but then you risk leaving the head under your skin.

I have had one of these on my keychain for 10+ years. A well thought out design that makes tick-removal easy. No need to run around gathering odd supplies to remove a tick with vasoline, tweezers, matches, etc. This little tool makes the job simple and ensures full removal. Simply place the tool over the tick with the pointy side in front of the ticks head and pull back towards the tick until it pops off. Voila! That's it. If you have pets, kids or venture out in any area where ticks are a concern, throw one of these on your keychain! They are very durable and will last you years.

I purchased my first Tick Key at least 10 years ago (if you camp, hike, or garden, it’s a matter of when, not if, you’ll need this). It is simple to use on yourself or pets, and it gets the entire tick out without crushing it. It’s a 10 out of 10 for value.

We have used this tick removal key for several years for removing deer ticks that thrive in our area. The deer ticks are so tiny, and I was reluctant this tool would be able to remove them. However, this tool consistently and effective removes even the tiniest of ticks. The instructions are simple to follow, the tool is easy to hold and very easy to use. This tool has never let us down. Great product!

I bought these to remove the ticks that my dog inevitably picks up when we walk in the woods. She (a springer spaniel, since you asked) has long hair. Usually I discover the ticks while petting her, but they're also usually covered by her coat. The Tick Key works well once I can get a clear view of the tick, but it's challenging sometimes to hold the fur back away from the tick, and I'm often tempted to pluck out the tick with my fingers instead. The tick usually gets caught in the narrow part of the Tick Key in such a way that I have to look hard to be sure I even removed it.The Tick Key is essentially a stamped piece of aluminum. I think this may be one of those products that seems overpriced and therefore a poor value, but its value is that it's very effective for its designed function.

I bought this because my sister in WI got a tick & ended up going to the ER as it got infected & the doctor used one of these & told her to go buy one. But her infection continued & she had to go on an IV at a later date & the whole ordeal cost over 4K. So I bought this set & intend to put one in the car & one in the house & one in the medicine cabinet. You also want these if you have dogs or cats as they pick up ticks more than we do.

Works on all but the smallest of ticks. Pops them off without any squeezing and has never left the head in or broken the tick. It simplifies removal to the point where my 7, 11 and 13 year old kids can use it without any problems. Which reallllly comes in handy when a tick has attached itself under your bra on your back between your shoulderblades. 😂We have bought a ton of these. The kids each have them on their backpacks, they're on all of our keychains, in all of our first aid kits and live in our cars. 😂 We're outdoorsy and garden a lot and live in the woods.I still keep a pair of needlenose tweezers in my first aid kits, but only need to use them on seed ticks or ticks that are sesame seed sized and smaller. Anything bigger pops off with this tool.

It's a bit pricey but it's very effective -- read the instructions! I made of a laminated copy of the instructions and attached it with this tick key on a keyring so it's always available. This wedge-style of removal is so much more effective than tweezer/pluck-style tick removers. The key is very well built for something so small.

Best tick key and a must to carry on hikes. I used a similar one from Walmart and it took several tries to 'catch' the tick as the metal was too thick. This one is easy to use and gently pulls the tick out with one smooth move.

Perfect. My son was camping and found a tick. He used the key for the first time. It worked and he didnt get infected.
