Never having lapped a valve before, and not necessarily ever expecting to do so again, I wanted something that was both functional and affordable. The valve spring compressor didn't work for my setup and I needed a different style, but expect it would work well for the right application. The lapping tools however were effective and simple, and presumably would stand up to much heavier use than I needed it for. I'd recommend this to anyone needing a set like this for at-home use.

Only used the smaller tool to rebuild a Hyundai 2.4L DOHC 16 valve cylinder head. Used a hammer to get the keepers off & after 3 or 4 I had to fish the keepers out with the smooth end of a drill bit to make room for more. Installation was a bit trickier. Had the the head at chest level on wood blocks. Held the valve up from the bottom with one hand and used my chin to push on my hand with the tool for added leverage, being careful to keep the tool perfectly in line with the valve stem. All but 1 of 16 went on smooth first try. I imagine larger springs would be more challenging. Lapping tools worked fine but I opted for a drill version to save time & energy. Nice color too

I give this tool 4 out of 5 stars as one of the rings over the hole for the keepers dropped off during first use.I checked the other larger tool and sure enough it was solid in place.I believe they either give it a Press-Fit or stick it in place.This lowers quality expectations for me.I have attached two photos, One of the Product in its Entirety and the Other showing the Larger & Smaller Keeper tool.On the Smaller tool you will see the Grey around the ring which is Megagrey silicon I used to stick it back in place. That's the ring I mentioned which fell off during first use.As seen in the photo attached, I simply Glued the ring back in place with some silicon simply because it will hold it in place and allow for some flex to it.I figure from the pressure of wacking it by hand to remove the keepers into the magnetic hole, if i used a solid glue it could come off again hence my use of silicon.That being said, I still give it a solid 4 stars as it got the job done, and this ring does not hinder it from doing its job whilst off. I am happy with my purchase thus far.I have not used to to install any keepers as yet, but I will be so if it does not go as smoothly as advertised or shows further damage of the tool I'll be sure to update. I also have not used the Suction cups for Lapping as yet, but I will be so if more Quality Concerns show up I'll be sure to update.Alright, enough said.Good Product. Feels Quality despite could be stronger.4 Stars solid.

Works very well, fast and efficient, removed 16 valves quicker then it takes to line up a old school valve press tool , only thing I would like improved is make the handle of the little one bigger but works well , can be tricky getting keeper locks out of the tool I use flat head screw driver works well . Also worked well installing the valve keepers.

the valve spring keeper removal part of the tool worked ok, so I'm being generous with the 3 stars. The reinstall part of the tool broke pretty rapidly. Suction cup valve lappers didn't hold very well. I wound up making my own valve spring compressor out of an old C clamp and a couple sockets welded on. This rig was a waste of dough and I would not but this set again.

Did not work like it was supposed to. One of the tools deformed very easily and the other broke apart. Buy a better kit
