If you want to mill this to fit an axa size holder you'll need to remove .250" from the inside bottom of the tool just deep enough to fit. Don't touch the outside face. This will get you cutting on center and able to make a deeper cut than a 1/2" tool.

These are a good tool for the price. This one is to replace the other I purchased. That one did go pow! I was not there but the operator said it grabbed and took the arm of the tool with it. That happens with these parting tools. Luckily, they are not too expensive, especially as they come with a full pack of inserts.

The insert stayed sharp while parting many O1 steel shafts and grooving 416 stainless. Works as well as my iscar and kennametal tooling.

Been using HSS for 10 years, This was a good purchase, the carbide cuts well, and as expected, the chips roll out better, and it is more rigid than the HSS blades I've been using. Had no problems with parting 6061 3/4 in deep, and that's the max this tool will handle with a few thousands more.Came with ten extra inserts, plus the one mounted in the tool for a total of (11) carbide inserts.I did not try any other materials with it yet other than the 6061 Aluminum.

Sturdy and well made with a downright pretty finish. Love the double sided inserts that are securely clamped in place. Has cut everything that I've thrown at it.Wish it wasn't made overseas, but it allows me to make more complicated stuff here.
