Although the gauge itself is a good quality gaugeI do have some comments.1. The gauge is an imperial gauge and as most of the world is metric I assumed that the gauge would also be metric. Unfortunately it is Imperial.2. The advert on the page stated the postage is included. This may be so if you live in the USA but it would seem anywhere else in the world is not.I therefore now own a gauge that cost me twice as much as it would have had I purchased it locally, and ontop of that I cannot use it without constantly refering to a conversion table.I have however learned a valuable lessen in that I need to shop with extreem care or not at all.

If a saw blade chips melamine on the top, or the bottom of the sheet, one of the probable causes is that the one or more teeth are pushed out. This gauge will show you which tooth is bent and you need to use pliers, gently pull the tooth back in line with other teeth until the gauge shows uniform clearance on every checked tooth. The gauge is firmly set on the side of the saw blade and the gauge tip is on the highest point of the carbide tip in order to check the tooth deflection.

I broke down and bought this side dial indicator to use when setting teeth on crosscut saws. Instead of tinkering with a vintage spider, this is very quick to slip on the tooth to see how it's set.

Was pleased to find one of these at a reasonable price. A handy tool that can take the place of multiple spider set gauges for crosscut saw filing.

It was easy to use with one hand, I used it to set the depth of cut on my plane.
