Used this to remove the seals and bearings on my Jeep Wrangler's rear axle. There are many different attachments that you can put on the end of this depending on the job. The weight of the hammer felt just right and performed great (took two solid hits to remove the bearings and gaskets from my axle). I would recommend wearing gloves to absorb some of the vibrations when using this tool (or to avoid hurting yourself if you make a boneheaded mistake and the weight slides on your fingers).

Pretty decent slide hammer for the price. My only qualm about it is that the chrome coating on it started flaking off immediately upon using it and got everywhere. Still got the job done, but I wasn’t super thrilled about having to do a lot of extra cleaning around my axle where I was replacing the bearings.

I ended up getting this since I needed a little more power pulling off a CV axle for transmission work. The weight slides effortlessly and love the T-handle on the end where i can grab and align the slide bar for maximum power. Although the weight is 5 lbs, you can stack some free weights (found in sporting good stores) behind the 5 lbs weight to give it more power.

Made quick work of my axle bearings. There's really not much to it - it threads in to my bearing pullers fine, and the weight moves freely.
