Worked Very well for putting the OEM (VERY Hard Plastic) CV boots for the Vari-loc axles on my wifes Grand Cherokee. Bought 1 or 2 locally to do these boots 7 they broke & only half got the rings crimped & ruined rings. This one is very heavy duty & did the rings first time without any problems once you understand how it works. Long as you don't use a sledge hammer on it, you'll have it for a lifetime. If you loan it out, you probably won't get it back.

i rebuilt my toyota cv axles with lisle 30800. that lisle tool could clamp closed to about 2-4mm but this otc tool can clamp down to 1-2mm closed. You can use this otc clamp while installed on the car also. i moved the washer to the bottom side where it is turned the most.

They work well if paired with the CV boot clamp pliers. A bit awkward using the tool alone to tighten down clamps. But perfect/easy at tightening down clamps once the boot clamp has been sinch down with the pliers

This is so much easier than using those stupid pliers on your cv boot. The pliers take so much manual force to actually get the clamp tight. With this, you just skip it over the loop on the clamp and tighten the bolts as far as they’ll go. This has saved me a lot of effort.

I like it because it’s solid heavy duty material. Using for automotive drive axle C.V.Boot clamps. Dislike it because C.V.Boot clamp is not squeezed equal.

Used it to install quite a few CV clamps (about 6 or 7 pairs so far), works good. Didn't have any issues with it. I keep the drive screw well lubed with a little antiseize and I expect this tool to last for quite awhile.

This is by far the best single ear clamp tool I've used yet! Super simple to use! Worth very penny! I highly recommend this tool to any do it your self type person!

If you are using this on aftermarket CV clamps or inner tie rod boots it’s fine, but I work at Volkswagen and this tool was not able to crimp the cv boot clamps properly.Tool is simply not strong enough, I did it by hand first but then when it wasn’t clamping properly so then I used the impact and chunks of metal was flying off the toolWent through 2 cv clamps before I just did it with side cutters and got in trouble with the parts department, which is a shame because Thehumblemechanic recommended this tool specifically for VW clamps
