Appears to be a decent crucible and it will do the job nicely. If you are looking to do large quantities of material this isn't for you. With that said the crucible has thick walls and came well packaged.

I am very pleased with this product. The workmanship is of high quality. There are no inclusions, abrasions, scrapes or defects. The lid aligns flush with the top of the crucible, without gaps. The lid is not tight - it does slide a little bit... but the play is less than a half milimeter. That is good, because it means it will not get stuck into the crucible. This product is exactly as described, 40mm high and 40mm diameter. 40mm is 4cm. This translates to 1.57 inches...

I am new to the world of melting stuff.. it's my husband's hobby and I wanted to do something nice and bought him this crucible thinking he could soda melt cans in it. It's the size of a shot glass. My husband laughed so hard when it arrived. 4 stars because I'm an idiot and for the laughs.

I’ve have bought quite a few of these in the last 6 months. I use them to melt silver in a propane furnace where they are directly exposed to a torch flame for about 10 minute at a time. They generally last about 20 times before the graphite degrades enough to start having holes in the side. The max silver I have done in this is crucible about 6 Troy ounces leaving about 1/4 inch at the top. Overall for the price these things are hard to beat and I’ll continue to buy more!

Good small crucible. I like the top that has a cut edge so it doesn’t slide off the bottom. Cool.
